What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay allows for secure and convenient purchases using your iPhone or iPad at participating merchants. It can also be used within apps.
Security Features
Apple Pay prioritizes your security by not storing your card number on your device or sharing it with merchants. A unique digital code is generated for each transaction. Touch ID provides an additional layer of biometric security, using your fingerprint as a password.
Adding Cards to Apple Pay
You can add credit or debit cards to Apple Pay through various methods. If your First Community card is already linked to your iTunes account, ensure your information is up-to-date. For cards not linked to iTunes, follow the on-screen instructions, which may involve calling First Community for verification.
Recommended Method for Linked iTunes Cards:
- Launch the Passbook app.
- Enter your iTunes password if prompted.
- Swipe down to reveal the '+' button and tap it.
- Select 'Use card on file with iTunes'.
- Enter the card's security code and proceed.
- Accept the terms and conditions.
For New Cards Not Linked to iTunes:
- Launch the Passbook app and select 'Set Up Apple Pay'.
- Choose 'Add a new Credit or Debit Card'.
- Enter your card information and security code.
- Accept the terms and conditions.
- You may receive a notification to call First Community for verification.
Managing Your Cards
If your card is lost or stolen, you can suspend Apple Pay via the 'Find My iPhone' feature or by contacting First Community. To change your default card, go to Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay, tap 'Default Card', and select a new card. You can also rearrange the order of your cards in Passbook by pressing and holding a card and dragging it to the desired position.
Participating Merchants and Usage
Apple Pay is accepted at thousands of merchant locations and in many popular App Store apps. Look for the contactless terminal or Apple Pay logo. When paying, hold your iPhone near the terminal and use Touch ID. For the best experience, select 'Credit' if prompted by the merchant terminal.
Returns and Transaction History
Merchants can process returns as usual. To view the last four digits of the card used for a transaction, go to Passbook, tap the card, and then tap the information icon ('i'). For a full transaction history, log into your Online Banking.
Troubleshooting and Support
Transaction amounts shown in Passbook may differ from your statement due to initial authorization holds. Always refer to your First Community statements for final details. For more information, visit apple.com.
