Safety Instructions
Read the safety instructions before starting the installation.
Installation Steps
1. Changing the Connector
If you want to use the Eisblock with an NV Link bridge, you need to install the universal connector. Remove the cover on the preinstalled connector and unscrew the screws beneath it to remove the connector. If the o-rings are not preinstalled, insert them into their respective places. Fasten the connector with the three included M3x10 screws.
2. Connecting LEDs
To use the pre-installed lighting, connect the LEDs to the supplied aRGB adapter cable. Connect this to an aRGB controller (sold separately) to control the LEDs. You can connect additional aRGB LEDs to the remaining 3-pin male connector.
3. Preparing the Video Card
Place the hardware on an antistatic mat. Begin dismantling the original cooler and the original backplate. Carefully remove screws and unhook the fan connector. If the original cooler uses thermal glue, exercise extreme care to avoid damaging parts. Clean the hardware of thermal paste or pad residues with a solvent (e.g., alcohol).
Before starting the cooler assembly, compare your card with the provided image. The cooler is constructed specifically for this layout. Graphics card manufacturers may occasionally revise their card designs, potentially making the cooler incompatible with later models. During assembly, ensure that tall components have sufficient clearance and that the cooler does not damage the graphics card. Alphacool International GmbH is not liable for assembly errors due to negligence, such as selecting an incompatible cooler.
4. Mounting the Cooling Block
Step 4.1: Applying Thermal Pads
Cut the thermal pads to size and place them as shown in the picture. Remember to remove the protective film on both sides. The yellow pads (30 mm x 30 mm x 3 mm) are placed on the rear side of the voltage converters and the GPU.
Step 4.2: Applying Thermal Paste
With the help of a plastic strip or thermal paste spreader, apply a thin layer of thermal paste on the GPU. The layer should be less than a millimeter thick to avoid contaminating surrounding components.
Step 4.3: Attaching the Block
Remove the protective film on the cooler bottom and clean the contact surfaces with alcohol. Place the video card onto the prepared cooling block. Attention: The slot bracket of the graphics card is higher than the cooler. To place the graphics card evenly, place the cooler on a table edge or slightly raised surface.
Step 4.4: Securing the Block
Place the backplate as shown in the picture and screw the cooler together. Hand-tighten the screws crosswise, one turn at a time.
Step 4.5: Closing Inlets
If you are using the extended connector, close the inlets not needed for tubing by screwing in the provided screw plugs with the enclosed tool.
Step 4.6: Final Tightening
Retighten the screws after approximately 12 hours of use of the graphics card.
Cutting Patterns
