ICM402 3-Phase Monitor

Made in USA

Product Overview

The ICM402 is a low-cost 3-phase line monitor with a 30 amp output. It protects against phase loss, phase reversal, and phase unbalance, making it ideally suited to protect scroll and screw compressors from reverse rotation.

Features

Mode Of Operation

If all 3 phases are relatively equal and in proper sequence, the normally open contacts (Y/Y-OUT) will close when 115/230 volts is applied between C and 115/230 VAC terminals. If the phases are out of sequence, or if one is missing, the contacts will never close.

If a phase is lost while the ICM402 is energized, the contacts will open immediately and will remain open until the error is corrected.

An illuminated green LED indicates that the output is energized, and an illuminated red LED indicates that there is a fault and the output is de-energized.

Wiring Diagram

A diagram illustrates the typical wiring for the ICM402, showing connections to a transformer, thermostat, contactor, and compressor. It includes input terminals for L1, L2, L3 (190-600 VAC) and control voltage (115/230 VAC), as well as output terminals Y and Y-OUT (30 amps MAX.). A 'FAULT' indicator and an 'ON' indicator are present. The diagram also shows a fuse for the control voltage and a fuse for the output. A note indicates that a wire can be cut for 50Hz operation.

Another diagram shows a typical part winding start wiring configuration with an ICM450 and ICM402. This setup involves a control voltage transformer, pressure switch, ICM450, and ICM402, connected to a contactor (CC1, CC2) and a compressor. It highlights the use of voltage-rated fuses and specifies that the ICM402 is for 115/230 VAC control voltage only. This configuration is noted as suitable for PWS motors with 3-phase monitor and single side monitor.
