Safety Instructions
⚠️ General Safety: The transmitter must always be supplied from an intrinsic safety barrier. All national safety regulations must be complied with during installation, start-up, and operation. Disregarding these regulations may lead to serious personal injury or extensive material damage. Work must be performed only by suitably qualified persons.
Ex Requirements: Certificates include DEMKO 01 ATEX 127938X, IECEx ULD 12.00005X, UKEX UL22UKEX2660X.
Special Ex Protection: In case of damage to the enclosure or diaphragm, the pressure transmitter must be replaced. Installation must adhere to IEC/EN60079-25 and IEC/EN60079-14.
WARNING - Electrostatic Charging Hazard: Install in areas with low wind speed and where plug rubbing is unlikely. Clean with a damp cloth. Ensure the pressure connection has a reliable earth connection with impedance not exceeding 1 Gohm. MBS transmitters contain 1.2 nF capacitance from any input terminal to earth.
Special Conditions for Safe Use: If connected apparatus Ci and Li exceed 1% of Co and Lo parameters (excluding cable), then 50% of Co and Lo parameters are applicable and shall not be exceeded.
WARNING - Electro-static Discharge Precautions: Similar precautions apply. Ensure resistance to earth of metallic parts is less than 1 GOhm. The equipment does not provide 500 V isolation to earth as required by IEC/EN60079-11.
Installations Across Boundary Walls: For Category 1G equipment and less hazardous areas, installations must be gas-tight as required by IEC/EN60079-26. Gaskets and seals must be suitable for the process medium.
Demands on the Medium: Parts in contact with the medium are stainless steel (EN 1088-1 1.4404 / AISI 316L). Users must analyze process parameters and ensure the medium is neutral to stainless steel. The process connection must be gas-tight, potentially requiring suitable gaskets/seals. Gaskets and seals must be suitable for the process medium and pressure/temperature. Ensure correct tightening torque.
