Safety Warnings
[warning] RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
- Always disconnect all power supply sources before installing or performing maintenance on this equipment.
- Do not use a PowerTag product for voltage testing purposes; a dedicated Voltage Tester must be used.
- Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or serious injury.
[warning] FIRE HAZARD
- Use 18 mm cable ends or strip 18 mm of wire to avoid tightening against insulating material.
- Use cable ends to connect the neutral wire for the R9M20 model.
- The PowerTag must be associated with an easily accessible upstream protection and disconnection device (marked 'A' in diagrams). This device must be clearly identified and labeled.
- Cable ends for voltage measurement wires must be adapted to the product terminals. Replacement of these cable ends is the responsibility of the professional installer.
- Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.
[warning] RISK OF DAMAGING THE POWERTAG
- Comply with the neutral position.
- Disconnect the PowerTag before performing dielectric withstand tests.
- Limit insulation measurements to 500 V. The input impedance of the PowerTag between phases or between phases and neutral is 1.8 MΩ.
- Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage.
Product Description and Status Indicators
The PowerTag device has the following key components:
- A: Current measurement module
- B: Product label: Features a detachable adhesive part with a unique product identifier (RF-Id) for commissioning with certain concentrators.
- C: Conductor feedthroughs: For current measurement.
- D: Safety instruction symbol: Indicates that all safety instructions associated with this symbol must be followed to avoid potential risks of injury or death.
- E: Communication status indicator light: Shows the communication status of the PowerTag.
The communication status indicator light (E) shows the following states:
- PowerTag off: No light.
- PowerTag searching for concentrator: Light flashes once every 1 second (0s ON, 1s OFF).
- PowerTag in identification mode: Light flashes once every 1 second (0s ON, 1s OFF).
- PowerTag networked. Normal communication with concentrator: Light is solid for 5 seconds, then off for 5 seconds (5s ON, 5s OFF).
- Occasional loss of communication: Light flashes once every 1 second (0s ON, 1s OFF).
- Loss of communication with concentrator: Light flashes once every 1 second (0s ON, 1s OFF).
- Internal error detected: Light flashes once every 1 second (0s ON, 1s OFF).
Installation and Connection
General Installation Guidelines:
- Ensure the concentrator has the latest software version before pairing.
- Use 18 mm cable ends or strip 18 mm of wire to avoid tightening against insulating material.
- Use cable ends for connecting the neutral wire of the R9M20.
- The PowerTag must be installed inside electrical panels or switchboards, behind a door or plate, to be inaccessible to unauthorized persons. Panels must meet applicable standards (IEC/EN 60670-24) and be installed according to current safety rules.
- Respect all relevant local, regional, and national regulations during installation and use.
Electrical Connections:
The PowerTag models connect to different electrical configurations:
- R9M20-1P: For single-phase (Un ~ 200-240 V) systems. Requires 22 AWG wire (Ø 0.33 mm²).
- R9M21-1P+N: For single-phase with neutral (Un ~ 220-240 V) systems.
- R9M22-1P+N: For single-phase with neutral (Un ~ 220-240 V) systems.
- R9M40-3P: For three-phase (Un 3~ 380-415 V) systems.
- R9M41-3P+N: For three-phase with neutral (Un 3N~ 220-240 / 380-415 V) systems.
- R9M42-3P+N: For three-phase with neutral (Un 3N~ 220-240 / 380-415 V) systems.
- R9M43-3P: For three-phase (Un 3~ 200-240 V) systems.
Connection Steps (General):
Refer to the diagrams for specific connection procedures. Ensure compliance with Resi9 ≤ 63 A requirements. Cable cross-sections and AWG equivalents are provided, for example:
- 1.5 mm² (16 AWG) for 0.7 mm wire diameter.
- 1.5-16 mm² (16-6 AWG) for wire diameters up to 18 mm.
- 1.5-2.5 mm² (16-14 AWG) for wire diameters up to 18 mm.
The diagrams illustrate the physical connection of wires to the PowerTag terminals, often involving inserting conductors into terminals and securing them.
