Product Overview
This document provides installation instructions for the NAV-TV NNG-Honda 8 Navigation Interface, designed for select Honda vehicles. It covers the installation process for both Honda Odyssey and Honda Pilot models, including dash removal, component installation, wiring, and GPS signal troubleshooting.
The interface allows for the integration of navigation features into the vehicle's existing infotainment system.
Honda Odyssey Dash Removal
Follow these steps to remove the dash components for Honda Odyssey installation:
- Remove the side panel.
- Remove the AC Vent Panel.
- Remove 3 screws [circled area].
- Take out the Screen unit.
- Remove 4 screws [circled area].
- Take out the LCD Panel.
- Prepare to install: 1. video board, 2. touch screen panel.
Honda Pilot Dash Removal
Follow these steps to remove the dash components for Honda Pilot installation:
- Remove both A/C vents panel.
- Remove 4 screws and 3 clips from the top [circled areas].
- Remove the AC Vent.
- Remove 4 screws [circled area].
- Remove the Top Dash panel by pulling out with tools.
- Remove the top panel (pulling out with tools).
- Remove 4 screws [circled area].
- Take out the LCD Panel.
- Prepare to install: 1. video board, 2. touch screen panel.
Note: The procedure shown for Odyssey is similar for Pilot, with minor differences in panel removal.
Install Touch Screen Panel Board
- Remove the Front Bezel.
- Use pick tools to remove the LCD Casing.
- Identify the Small Ribbon as the LCD panel Power connection.
- Unscrew the factory video board and prepare to remove the LCD panel.
- Remove the Video Board screws and 2 ribbon cables [circled areas].
- Place the Touch Screen Panel onto the front of the LCD Panel.
Install Touch Screen Panel Board (II)
- Install the touch panel.
- Restore the LCD Panel. Refer to the provided label to identify the front/back side.
- Restore 3 Ribbon cable connections [circled areas].
- Connect the #1 Small Ribbon for LCD panel Power.
- Connect the #2 Video Ribbon and #3) Touch Screen Ribbon.
- Restore the factory LCD Board. Prepare for the installation of the daughter video board.
Install Video Board
- Place the provided 3 Studs into the specified locations [circled areas] on the circuit board.
- Connect the Y-Connection on the Ribbon Cable: The factory brown ribbon connects to the daughter board, and the daughter board ribbon connects to the factory board.
- Connect the Touch Screen Ribbon into the daughter board. Ensure sockets are aligned and closed [highlighted area].
Install Video Board II
- Restore 3 factory screws into the daughter board [circled areas].
- Prepare the Panel casing.
- Peel off Metal Tape.
- Route the video cable from the interface module to the daughter board.
- Secure the video connection.
Install Video Board III
- Close the LCD panel casing, preparing for the interface/GPS module installation.
- Remove the Protection Plastic Bezel. This is done by removing protection plastic with pick tools [highlighted area].
Note: The procedure shown is for Odyssey; the process remains the same for Pilot.
Overall Wiring Connection Figure
This section details the wiring connections for the navigation interface.
Main Harness:
- 32P Screen Harness: Connects to the Screen and Car Side.
- 8P Power Connector: Connects to the GPS box Harness.
Interface box:
- LCD (PINK): Connects to the Interface box.
- TP IN (Yellow): Connects to the Interface box.
- 12P Main Harness: Connects to the Screen and Car Side.
- GPS Harness: Connects to Interface box NAVI_IN, GPS Box 20P.
- GPS Harness: Provides GPS power to the 12P Main Harness.
External Switch: Used for Manual Switch for Radio/GPS Mode, External Speaker, and GPS Antenna.
DIP SW SETTING:
- DIP SW Setting:
- 1 ON: OEM CAMERA or No Camera
- 1 OFF: AFTER MARKET CAMERA
- 2-5 OFF
- 6 OFF
- 7 OFF
- 8 OFF
RGB ONLY section is also indicated.
Connect Reverse Wire
To connect OEM Camera
Conditions: #1) DIP SW #1 ON, #2) Connect reverse wire.
Honda Odyssey with OEM camera:
- Locate the fuse box under the driver side.
- Find the left green connector.
- Identify the brown wire as the reverse wire.
- Tap the brown wire into the reverse wire (orange).
Honda Pilot with OEM camera:
- At the passenger side, open the Kick panel and find the blue connector.
- Tap the orange wire into the interface box reverse wire (orange).
Please note that the reverse wire location might differ; this information is for reference only. You may find the reverse wire at another location and connect it to the interface box reverse wire (orange).
To connect Aftermarket Camera
Conditions:
- #1) DIP SW #1 OFF (resets power every time the dip switch is changed).
- #2) Connect the reverse trigger to the interface box orange reverse wire.
- #3) Connect the RCA Camera input to the interface box.
WEAK /NO GPS SIGNAL?
Tips to Improve GPS Antenna Signal if vehicle equipped with Metallized Windshield:
Use “GPS MONITOR Tools”.
To exit iGO MAP, press the SHUT DOWN BUTTON.
Console Navigation: Console > SETUP.
GPS Monitor Screen:
To reset GPS signal and change the Antenna position, press the [exclamation mark] icon.
PROPER GPS ANTENNA POSITION
For vehicles equipped with Metallized Windshield:
Alternatively, installers may choose to mount the antenna inside the headliner or inside the vehicle using GPS monitor tools. However, ensure the antenna stays away from the windshield.
Note: Windshields with metal particles can interfere with radio waves, dash-mount satellite radio receivers, and GPS receivers. External transmitters and receivers may be required.
IGO PRIMO MAP PATH SETTING
Follow these steps to set the iGO PRIMO map path:
- Press Setup > Navigate Setup.
- Press on the Folder Icon.
- Select the following path in Storage Card: > cyb_navi.exe.
- Press the HOME button on the top left corner and press NAVIGATION.
- The system should now be able to run “IGO PRIMO”.
