The CX8091 is a control system featuring a switched Ethernet port, supporting both BACnet/IP and OPC UA protocols. Due to its limited memory, simultaneous use of both protocols is not recommended. K-bus or E-bus terminals can be attached, and the CX8091 automatically detects the connected I/O system during startup. The system is programmed using TwinCAT 2 via the fieldbus or Ethernet interface.
BACnet (Building Automation Control Network) is a standardized, manufacturer-independent communication protocol for building automation, applicable to HVAC, lighting control, safety, and fire alarm systems.
The TwinCAT OPC UA Server implements the OPC Unified Architecture (UA) specification, defining data access, coding, and transport protocols.
Hardware Description
The CX8091 unit features an Ethernet port with status indicators (Link/Act). It has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (X101, X102), each supporting 10/100 Mbit/s, also with Link/Act indicators. An address selector is present. The device includes Power LEDs, a status LED for TC (TC status), WD (Watchdog), and ERR (Error). It supports E-bus or K-bus connections. A front flap conceals the input for power contacts and the power contacts themselves. A coupler supply is also integrated.
