Note: The SSR868 supports 3 modes: Auto, Manual, and Off. Switch between them by short-pressing the Mode button.

  • Auto mode (Green Auto LED): Thermostat controls the relay.
  • Manual mode (Green ON LED): The relay is always activated.
  • Off mode (No LED on Auto or On): The relay is off.

Fail Safe Protection

After 1 hour of no signal from the thermostat, the receiver enters a lost pairing state. During each hour of lost pairing, the relay is off for 55 minutes and on for 5 minutes.

Waterproof Protection

Cable glands, sealing, and PCB conformal coating are necessary due to application scenarios, such as installation in bathrooms where high humidity can damage the receiver. The SSR868 has an IP54 protection rating for these reasons.

Pairing Process

Follow these steps to pair the SSR868 receiver with a SALUS 868 MHz thermostat:

  1. Step 1: On the receiver, the PAIR LED is flashing YELLOW (default, unpaired). Press and hold the [PAIR button] for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode. The PAIR LED will turn solid GREEN.
  2. Step 2: On the thermostat, press the MENU button.
  3. Step 3: Navigate to the 'Pairing' submenu using the UP/DOWN buttons and press SELECT.
  4. Step 4: Select 'PAIR' and press SELECT.
  5. Step 5: The pairing process takes up to 10 minutes. The PAIR LED on the receiver will flash GREEN during this time.
  6. Step 6: Once pairing is successful, the PAIR LED on the receiver will turn solid GREEN, and the Auto LED will turn solid GREEN (indicating Auto mode). The thermostat will return to the main screen.

Note: If pairing is unsuccessful after 10 minutes, the receiver will revert to a solid RED PAIR LED, and the process must be restarted.

If Pairing is Lost

If the receiver loses its link with the thermostat (after 1 hour of failed communication), the PAIR LED will flash RED.

In Auto mode, the relay will be off for 55 minutes and on for 5 minutes each hour. When the connection is re-established, the receiver will act according to the thermostat's demand.

If pairing is lost (change mode): If the lost link occurs while in Manual mode (relay always on), the PAIR LED will flash RED. Short-pressing the [MODE button] can switch the receiver to On mode (relay always on), but the PAIR LED will continue flashing RED to indicate the lost connection. When the connection is re-established, the PAIR LED will turn solid RED.

Test Pairing

To test the pairing functionality:

  1. Step 1: On the thermostat, press the MENU button.
  2. Step 2: Navigate to the 'Pairing' submenu using the UP/DOWN buttons and press SELECT.
  3. Step 3: Select 'TEST' and press SELECT.

Note: The testing process can take approximately 10 minutes.

Factory Reset (Receiver)

To perform a factory reset on the receiver:

  1. Press and hold the [PAIR button] for 10 seconds.
  2. The PAIR LED will show a solid RED light, then the receiver will reset.
  3. After reset, the PAIR LED will flash YELLOW, indicating the receiver is inactive and unpaired.

Thermostat Factory Reset

To reset a compatible SALUS thermostat:

  1. Press and hold MENU, DOWN, and BOOST buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
  2. The device will reset and start up automatically.

If Pairing Started by Mistake

If you accidentally initiate the pairing process:

  1. On the receiver, the PAIR LED will flash GREEN.
  2. Press and hold the [PAIR button] for 5 seconds to exit pairing mode and keep the previous pairing code.
