BioLAB BMGS-104 Magnetic Stirrer
OPERATING MANUAL
Model: BMGS-104
1 Introduction
The BioLAB magnetic stirrer is designed for user-friendly operation with an ultra-low speed, ultra-quiet magnetic drive. It simulates the dynamic process of cell fermentation tanks, enhancing fluidity and gas exchange. This improves the adherence of cells to microcarriers, promoting cell growth with minimal shear force. It is ideal for suspended cells and microcarriers in high-density cultures, ensuring accurate and uniform speed for balanced cell growth.
Features:
3.5-inch color screen with a friendly visual interface for intuitive operation.
Stepping motor for stable performance, precise control, long life, and excellent starting/stopping response.
Stainless steel shell for high strength, temperature resistance, and anti-corrosion properties.
Compact design with a 50° bevel control panel for comfortable use in seated or standing positions.
Capable of intermittent circulation work mode.

3. Preparation
This chapter describes the instrument's mechanical structure, keyboard functions, and preparations before power on.
3.1 Structure Description
The instrument features a working area on top, a switch, and operation buttons on the front panel. The rear panel includes a power connector and a fuse.
Diagram Description:
Top view shows the circular working area, a switch, and several operation buttons.
Rear view shows the power connector and the fuse holder.
3.2 Keyboard and Display Panel
The display shows operational status including speed, timer settings (ON/OFF), and cycle count. The control panel includes MODE, +, -, START/STOP, and 1-9 keys.
Display Example:
Run Speed: 200 rpm
ON Time: 00:30 m:s
OFF Time: 00:30 m:s
Count: 32 S1
3.3 Key Function
+: Increase setting value (speed, time, cycles).
-: Decrease setting value (speed, time, cycles).
START/STOP: Starts or stops the operation. Press and hold for 2 seconds to stop.
MODE: Cycles through setting modes (Speed, ON time, OFF time, Cycles).
1~9: Selects preset settings (S1-S9).
3.4 Power Connection
Place the instrument on a stable, horizontal surface. Connect the power cord to the DC socket on the rear of the instrument. Ensure the voltage is between 100V and 240V.
Diagram Description:
Shows the magnetic stirrer connected to a power source (AC100-240V) via a power cord.
The display shows Speed: 200 rpm, ON: 00:30 m:s, OFF: 00:30 m:s, Count: 32 S1.
4. Operation Guide
4.1 Speed, time, cycle times and selection of preset Settings
Power On: Turn on the power switch. The display shows the last used parameters.
Set Speed: Press MODE once. A white frame appears around the speed display. Use '+' to increase (single digit increments, then tens) and '-' to decrease speed (range 5-200rpm).
Set ON Time: Press MODE twice. A white frame appears around the time display. Use '+' to increase time (seconds, then minutes) and '-' to decrease time (range 1s - 99min59s).
Set OFF Time: Press MODE three times. A white frame appears around the OFF time display. Use '+' and '-' to set the OFF time (range 0s - 99min59s).
Set Cycles: Press MODE four times. A white frame appears around the cycle count display. Use '+' to increase and '-' to decrease the number of cycles (range 1-99).
Select Preset: Press keys 1-9 to select preset settings (S1-S9). The '+' and '-' keys can also adjust speed, which will be saved as the current setting.
4.2 Stop / Start
Start: Press the START/STOP button once to run the current program.
Indicator Light: Flashes during acceleration/deceleration, stays on at set speed, and turns off when there is no speed.
End of Operation: The instrument waits for input. Press MODE or 1-9 to reset parameters. Press START/STOP to begin with the last saved settings.
During Operation: Press START/STOP to pause. Press again to resume.
