Quick Start Guide
Product Overview
This document provides a quick start guide for the Lockin Veno Palm Vein Recognition Smart Lock. It covers the exterior and interior assembly, parts list, installation preparation, and settings.
Exterior Assembly
The exterior assembly includes:
- Palm vein scanner
- Fingerprint scanner
- Motion sensor
- Keypad
- Mechanical lock cylinder
- Doorbell button
- Light, lock, and unlock button (White: unlocked, Red: locked, Flashing Red: unlock failed or low battery)
- Emergency charging port
- Spacer
- Bit
Interior Assembly
The interior assembly includes:
- Thumb turn
- Battery compartment
- Setting button (Click to pair, press and hold for 3 seconds to reset to factory settings)
- Product label with Matter pairing sticker
- Rear mounting plate
- Battery cover

Installation Preparation
- Charge the lithium battery completely before installation. The first full charge may take 6 to 8 hours. Use a 5V/2A adapter and a Type-C cable for optimal charging.
- Required tools (not included): Phillips head screwdriver No. 2. Do not use an electric screwdriver as it may damage the lock.
Verify Door Requirements
Ensure your door meets the following requirements:
- Door thickness: 1³⁄₈ in - 2¹¹⁄₁₆ in (35-55 mm)
- Cross bore diameter: 2¹⁄₈ in / 54 mm
- Backset distance: 2³⁄₈ in / 60 mm or 2³⁄₄ in / 70 mm
- Minimum distance between handle and door hole center: 3 in / 75 mm
- Door hole diameter: 1 in / 25.4 mm

Install the Deadbolt
- Determine if the deadbolt length needs adjustment.
- Insert the lock body into the edge bore of the door. Ensure the word "TOP" is oriented upwards and the T-shaped slot for the tailpiece is centered in the face hole.

- If the backset is 2³⁄₈ in / 60 mm, insert the lock body directly.
- If the backset is 2³⁄₄ in / 70 mm, adjust the deadbolt length by rotating it 180°.

- Ensure the "TOP" is oriented upwards.
- Insert the door status cable terminal into the side hole of the door and retrieve it from the inside to straighten it. Be careful not to damage the cable and terminal.

- Ensure the door status cable passes through the space under the deadbolt and into the interior of the door.
Install the Exterior Assembly
- Measure the cross bore diameter. Install the exterior assembly directly if the diameter is 2¹⁄₈ in / 54 mm.

- Ensure the exterior assembly is securely fixed vertically. It is recommended to have assistance for this step.

- Ensure the cable passes under the deadbolt.
Install the Interior Mounting Plate
- Detach the interior mounting plate and battery cover from the interior assembly.

- Pass the cables through the mounting plate slot.
- Align the mounting plate with the threaded screw.
- Diagram Description: Shows passing cables and aligning the mounting plate.
- IMPORTANT: Use the correct screws. Using incorrect screws may lead to installation failure or damage to the lock.
- Route the door status cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate.
- Route the power cable and Wi-Fi cable over the door status cable through the designated hole on the mounting plate.

- Carefully straighten the door status cable to avoid damage.
- Align and insert the screws, ensuring the cable is positioned below without being pinched.
- Manually align the screws with the nuts through the guide holes of the lock body and tighten them with a screwdriver.

- For easier installation, ask someone to hold the exterior assembly to ensure it is securely fixed and does not tilt.

- Use a screwdriver to fix your screws.
Install the Interior Assembly
- Connect the power cable, door status cable, and Wi-Fi cable to the ports on the interior assembly.

- Follow the steps: Connect the door status cable to port 1, the Wi-Fi cable to port 2, and the power cable to port 3.

- IMPORTANT: Ensure the power cable is connected correctly. To disconnect the Wi-Fi cable, gently pull the handle.
- Insert the bit into the T-shaped slot of the interior assembly.
- Ensure the cables are neatly arranged in the designated space on the interior assembly.

- Ensure the deadbolt is retracted and set the thumb turn to the vertical position.
- Secure the interior assembly tightly to the door panel and tighten it with the interior assembly screws.

- Check if the bolt can extend and retract smoothly by turning the thumb turn without obstruction.

Install the Strike Plate and Strike Box
Ensure the depth of the bolt hole on the door frame for the strike plate installation is at least 1 inch. Otherwise, the initial calibration process after installation may fail, leading to malfunction during future use.

- The door sensor on the strike plate should align with the corresponding door sensor on the deadbolt.
- Option: Install a reinforced strike plate for added security.
Settings
- Download the Lockin Smart app and log in or create an account.
- Search for "Lockin Smart" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

- In the Lockin Smart app, tap "Add Device". On the displayed page, tap "Veno". Follow the app's instructions and configuration steps to complete the settings.
