Important Information

General Precautions

  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid rough handling and dropping the watch.
  • Do not wear the strap too tightly; ensure a finger can fit between the strap and your wrist.
  • Clean the watch and strap using a dry soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile agents such as gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.
  • Store the watch in a dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
  • Some models have silk-screened designs on their straps. Be careful when cleaning these straps to avoid damaging the designs.

Battery

The battery installed at the factory discharges during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of insufficient power (dim display), replace the battery at your nearest authorized CASIO service center or CASIO distributor.

Water Resistance

Watches are classified by water resistance rating (from I to V) according to the degree of protection against water. Check your watch's rating to determine its proper use.

Water Resistance Ratings
RatingCase MarkingSplash, Rain, WashingSwimming, ShoweringDiving, SnorkelingScuba Diving
I(No Marking)NoNoNoNo
IIWATER RESISTANTYesNoNoNo
III50 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesNoNo
IV100 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYesNo
V200 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYesYes

Notes:

  • Rating I: Not water resistant. Avoid all moisture.
  • Rating II (WR): Water resistant according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water is acceptable.
  • Rating III (50 meters): Can withstand water pressure indicated. Suitable for showering and brief swimming.
  • Rating IV (100 meters): Suitable for regular swimming and snorkeling.
  • Rating V (200 meters): Suitable for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixture).

General Water Resistance Rules:

  • Never press buttons underwater.
  • Never set hands underwater.
  • Never unscrew the crown underwater.
  • If exposed to salt water, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry.
  • Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.

Care for Your Watch

  • Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
  • The gasket, which protects the watch from water and dust, should be replaced every 2-3 years.
  • If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.

Plastic Straps

A white powdery substance may appear on plastic straps. This substance is harmless and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth. Sweat or moisture, or storing the strap in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long life for your plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.

Fluorescent Cases and Straps

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause gradual fading of fluorescent colors. Prolonged contact with moisture can also cause gradual fading. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible. Prolonged contact with any other wet surface may cause discoloration of the fluorescent color. Ensure the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.

Condensation

Slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass when exposed to sudden temperature changes. This is a normal phenomenon due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
