Product Description

The Shelly 2L Gen3 is a compact, dual-channel smart switch designed for lighting control without requiring a neutral wire. It enables effortless control of resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads via mobile phone, tablet, PC, or integrated home automation systems. It is suitable for managing lighting, electric heaters, transformers, fans, and generators. The device can operate standalone on a local Wi-Fi network or integrate with cloud home automation services, allowing remote access and control. Its compact design fits standard electrical wall boxes and behind light switches. The embedded Web Interface allows for easy configuration. This device is Matter-ready, with Matter functionality available via a future firmware update.

Wiring Diagram

The wiring diagram illustrates the Shelly 2L Gen3 device with the following terminals:

  • O2: Load circuit output terminal 2
  • S2: Switch input terminal 2
  • L: Live (220-240 V~) terminal
  • O1: Load circuit output terminal 1
  • S1: Switch input terminal 1
  • Sx: Switch signal output terminal

Connections involve wiring the Live (L) wire to the L terminal, connecting loads to O1 and O2, connecting switches/buttons to S1/Sx and S2/Sx respectively, and connecting the Neutral (N) wire. A Shelly Bypass must be connected in parallel to the load at O1 (mandatory, except for incandescent lights).

Installation Instructions

  1. Connect the first load (up to 1.2 A) to the O1 terminal of the Device and the Neutral wire as shown in the wiring diagram.
  2. Connect the Shelly Bypass, provided in the package, in parallel to the first load (mandatory, except for incandescent lights).
  3. Connect the second load to the O2 terminal and the Neutral wire.
  4. Connect the first switch or button to the S1 and Sx terminals.
  5. Connect the second switch or button to the S2 and Sx terminals.
  6. Connect the Live wire to the L terminal.

ℹ Note: Use solid single-core wires or stranded wires with ferrules. Wire insulation should have increased heat resistance (not less than PVC T105°C / 221°F). Do not connect multiple wires to a single terminal.
