Blaupunkt Cooktop Installation Manual
Important Notes
Safety: Safe use is guaranteed only if the technical installation is carried out correctly and in accordance with these assembly instructions. The installation technician is liable for any damage caused by unsuitable installation.
This appliance is permitted for use at altitudes up to 4000 meters.
Wearers of electronic implants: The appliance may contain permanent magnets which may affect electronic implants, e.g., heart pacemakers or insulin pumps. Therefore, during installation, wearers of electronic implants must maintain a minimum distance of 10 cm from the appliance.
Electric connection: Only by an authorised specialist technician. Local electricity provider guidelines must be observed. The appliance must be connected to a fixed installation with appropriate isolating switches.
Type of connection: The appliance falls under protection class I and can only be used with a grounding conductor connection.
The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for malfunction or damage caused by incorrect electrical installations.
Mains cable: The mains cable must only be installed by a qualified professional or trained after-sales engineer. Connection data is on the rating plate and in circuit diagrams.
Installing below a worktop: Induction plates can only be installed above drawers or ovens from the same brand. Refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens without ventilation, or washing machines cannot be installed below the cooktop.
Extraction chimney: Clearance between the extraction chimney and the hob must match the specified clearance in the chimney's installation instructions.
Worktop: Must be flat, horizontal, and stable. Follow the hob manufacturer's instructions. If the worktop thickness does not comply, reinforce it with fire- and water-resistant material to achieve the minimum recommended thickness. Otherwise, stability may be insufficient.
The worktop must withstand loads of approx. 60 kg.
Check hob evenness only after installation.
Warranty: Unsuitable installation, connection, or assembly invalidates the product warranty.
Note: Any interior appliance changes, including power cable replacement, must only be performed by specially trained Technical Assistance Service personnel.
Preparing the Cupboard (Figures 1/2/3)
Built-in kitchen units: Must be temperature-resistant up to at least 90°C.
Cut-out: Remove shavings after cutting. Seal cut surfaces with heat-resistant material. Worktop: Must have a minimum thickness of 20 mm. Ventilation: The clearance between the worktop surface and the upper area of the drawer must be 65 mm. Note: Use a wooden intermediate shelf only if metal objects in the drawer reach high temperatures due to recirculating air from the hob's ventilation (Figure 11). Hob: Must have a minimum thickness of 30 mm. Note: Refer to the oven's installation instructions if the distance between the hob and oven must be increased. Ventilation: The distance between the oven and the hob must be at least 5 mm. Adequate ventilation is required for correct appliance function. The fan in the lower section needs sufficient fresh air supply, so cupboards must be designed accordingly. Note: If installed in an island unit or other undescribed installation, ensure adequate hob ventilation.Assembly over drawer (Figure 2a)

Installing the Appliance (Figures 4/5/6/7/8/9/10)
Note: Wear protective gloves. Non-visible surfaces may have sharp edges.
For appliances without a pre-installed cable, insert the mains cable into the socket.
Step 1: Prepare the cable connection
Turn the hob over and place it on the packaging base, a cloth, or another surface to prevent scratches.
Figure 4: Use a screwdriver to lift the socket cover.
Figure 5: Undo the mounting screw and use a screwdriver to lift the hose clamp.
Step 2: Connect the cables (Figure 6)
Connect only according to the illustration on the socket:
- BN (Brown) to L
- BU (Blue) to N
- GN/YE (Yellow and Green) to PE/Ground
- BK (Black) to L2
- GY (Grey) to L3 (if applicable)
Notes:
- If required, install the enclosed copper bridges according to the circuit diagram.
- Ensure socket screws are tightened after connecting cables.
Step 3: Secure the cable (Figure 7)
Fix the mains cable with the hose clamp and tighten the mounting screw.
Step 4: Close the socket cover
Close the socket cover.
Note: For a longer cable, contact after-sales service.
Putting the hob in place (Figures 8/9)
Figure 8: Attaching the mounting rails.
If rails are already attached, remove them and install new ones.
For tiled work surfaces, use the lower threaded holes. For stone work surfaces, glue the rails using heat-resistant adhesive suitable for metal and stone.
Push the appliance into the installation recess.
Ensure the hob is level with the worktop. If not, install and carefully tighten the supplied anchors (Figure 9).
Note: Do not use an electric screwdriver.
- Do not trap the mains cable or route it over sharp edges. If an oven is installed below, route the cable along the oven's rear corners to the socket. Ensure the cable does not touch hot sections of the hob or oven.
- For tiled work surfaces: Seal tile joints with silicone rubber.
Connecting the appliance (Figure 10)
Voltage: See the rating plate.
Connect only according to the circuit diagram:
- BN (Brown)
- BU (Blue)
- GN/YE (Yellow and Green)
- BK (Black)
- GY (Grey)
Depending on the connection type, the arrangement of factory-supplied clamps may need to be changed. Clamps may need shortening and insulation removal to insert a clamp connecting two cables.
Uninstalling the Appliance
Disconnect the appliance from the mains.
Push the hob upwards from below to remove it.
Caution! Damage to the appliance! Do not try to remove the appliance by prying it out from above.
