Casio Module No. 5028 User Manual
Models: AQW-100, MTP-1298
This manual provides instructions for operating your Casio watch, Module No. 5028, covering models AQW-100 and MTP-1298.Water Resistance
The watch's water resistance is rated according to ISO 2281. The specific rating indicates its suitability for various water-related activities:
- WR (Water Resistant): Suitable for brief contact with water.
- 5 Bar (50 Meters): Suitable for showering and brief swimming.
- 10 Bar (100 Meters): Suitable for regular swimming and snorkeling.
- 20 Bar (200 Meters): Suitable for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Important Notes on Water Protection:
- Never press buttons underwater.
- Never adjust hands underwater.
- Never unscrew the crown underwater.
- If exposed to saltwater, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry completely.
- Avoid wearing leather strap watches while swimming or exposing leather straps to prolonged water contact.
Watch Care and Maintenance
- Do not attempt to open the watch case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The water-resistant gasket should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture enters the watch, have it inspected immediately by a CASIO dealer or distributor.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Wear the watch carefully and avoid dropping it.
- Ensure the strap is not fastened too tightly; a finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.
- Clean the watch and strap with a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Avoid volatile substances like gasoline or solvents.
- Store the watch in a dry place when not in use.
- Prevent contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, or paint, as these can damage gaskets, the case, and the finish.
- Be cautious when cleaning straps with silk-screened designs to avoid damage.
Material-Specific Care
Plastic Straps
A white powdery substance may appear on plastic straps; this is harmless and can be wiped away. Sweat, moisture, or high humidity can damage plastic straps. Wipe them clean with a soft cloth regularly.
Fluorescent Cases and Straps
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or moisture can cause fluorescent colors to fade or discolor. Wipe off any moisture promptly. Friction with other surfaces may transfer fluorescent paint.
Condensation may form inside the glass during rapid temperature changes; this is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not liable for any damage incurred during watch use.
Water Resistance Classification
Watches are classified by rating (I to V) based on their water resistance. Consult the table below to determine correct usage:

Note: A decree in Russia in 2011 and subsequent laws in 2014 changed time zones and abolished daylight saving time. Users in Russia should consider these changes when setting their watches.
Example Entries:
- Anchorage: GMT -9/-8, 149°W, Tidal Interval: 5:40
- Boston: GMT -5/-4, 71°W, Tidal Interval: 11:20
