Nokia ONT XS-010X-Q Quick Reference Guide

1. Product Overview

The Nokia Optical Network Terminal (ONT) XS-010X-Q features one 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) port and is part of Nokia's industry-leading ONT product family. It is designed to deliver triple-play services in a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) environment for single-family units (SFUs) requiring an Ethernet port. The Nokia ONT terminates the 10 G symmetrical Passive Optical Network (XGS-PON) fiber interface, compliant with the Full Service Access Network (FSAN) standard.

The Nokia ONT XS-010X-Q is designed for residential customers, providing data services via FTTH or fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) applications. It supports a line rate of 10 Gb/s upstream and 10 Gb/s downstream, compliant with ITU-T G.9807.1. With XGS-PON as the uplink interface, the XS-010X-Q also complies with the standard optical network unit (ONU) management and control interface (OMCI) definition. The device can be managed remotely using application management services (AMS) and supports full FCAPS (fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security) functions.

It is recommended that users and individuals maintain a distance of at least 10 cm from the Product to avoid exposure to its electromagnetic field, which could interfere with pacemakers or other electronic medical devices. Consult your physician or medical device manufacturer regarding safe distances if you use such devices.

Keep the product and accessories out of reach of pets to prevent damage and potential injury or electrocution.

If the Product malfunctions or does not perform as expected, stop using it immediately.

The product is expected to operate within a temperature range of -5 to 45 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 5% to 95%.

3. Install the ONT

  1. Connect the power cable to the PWR power port on the case.
  2. Connect the power cord to the wall socket.
  3. Remove the protective cap from the OPTICAL port on the case.
  4. Remove the protective cap from the fiber optic.
  5. Connect the optical fiber to the optical port on the case.
  6. Connect the case to the home router using the Ethernet cable.
  7. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the device ON.

Specific precautions for EMC Warning

The Products comply with Class B of EN 55032. In residential environments, this equipment may cause radio interference. The Products have been tested according to EN 55032 (Emissions) and EN 55035 (Immunity) requirements. No specific precautions are necessary to comply with Directive 2014/30/EU Essential Requirements. Furthermore, the Products are tested to ensure spurious emissions are within specified limits and include adaptivity features to mitigate co-location issues with other wireless products. The Products are not subject to Section 2 of Annex I of Directive 2014/30/EU for fixed installations.

End of Life Collection and Treatment

In the European Union and European Economic Area, this label indicates that the product should not be disposed of with household waste. It must be deposited in an appropriate facility for recovery and recycling.

The Product is marked with the WEEE symbol. WEEE stands for Waste Electronics and Electrical Equipment. Electronic products marked with the WEEE symbol, when placed on the market within the EU and EEA, must be collected and treated at the end of their useful life in compliance with applicable EU and local legislation. They should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. Improper disposal may negatively impact the environment and human health due to materials like heavy metals or batteries.

At the end of their life, Products are subject to local legislation implementing European Directive 2012/19/EU on WEEE. Collection and treatment requirements may vary by EU member state.

Nokia will offer to provide for the collection and treatment of Products bearing the WEEE logo at the end of their useful life, or Products displaced by Nokia equipment, in compliance with legal requirements and contractual agreements. Equipment can be disposed of at electronic waste collection points or returned to stores selling electronics.

5. FCC Declaration of Conformity

FCC Guidelines for Human Exposure

The Product complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. The Product should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 32cm between the radiator and your body.

FCC Information to User

The Product contains no user-serviceable components and must be used only with approved antennas. Any product changes or modifications will invalidate all applicable regulatory certifications and approvals.

The Product and its antenna(s) must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
