1. Important Safety Instructions

Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.

When using electrical products, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons including the following:

DANGER Risk of electric shock! Do not attempt to repair the product yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.

CAUTION Risk of fire! Never use any petroleum-based or flammable oils or lubricants in or around the machine as some oils can combust, causing serious injuries.

CAUTION Risk of injury! Do not hold CD/DVD with finger through the center ring while feeding into the shredder. Serious injury may occur.

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

3. Intended Use

This product is intended for shredding paper, CDs, DVDs, plastic credit cards and similar materials only. Do not shred greeting cards with sound chips or batteries.

This product is intended for office and private use.

This product is intended to be used in dry indoor areas only.

DANGER Risk of suffocation! Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.

6. Assembly

NOTICE

  1. Adjust the pullout handle (F) in the product to fit the selected bin (Fig. 1).
  2. Use the bin anchor (H) to position and secure the product on the selected bin (Fig. 2).
  3. Push the pullout handle (F) back to secure the product to the rim of the selected bin (Fig. 3).

7. Operation

7.1 Do not shred

7.2 Switching on/off

  1. Connect the power plug (G) to a suitable socket-outlet.
  2. Switch the product on by sliding the control slider (A) to AUTO mode position. The indicator (E) steadily lits.
  3. Switch the product off by sliding the control slider (A) to OFF mode position. The indicator (E) goes off.

7.3 Control slider

NOTICE

Set the control slider (A) to the mode desired.

7.4 Shredding

NOTICE A sensor is located in the center of the paper/card feed slot (C). In AUTO mode, always insert the item into the center of the feed slot (C).

DANGER Risk of injury! Do not hold a CD/DVD with finger through the center ring while feeding into the CD destroyer slot (D).

  1. Set the control slider (A) to FWD mode.
  2. Lift the CD destroyer cover (B) to begin shredding (Fig. 7).
  3. Hold a CD/DVD by its edge and position it in the middle of the CD destroyer slot (D) (Fig. 8).
  4. Release the CD/DVD when shredding begins.
  5. Only feed in one CD/DVD at a time.

  1. Set the control slider (A) to OFF mode.
  2. Carefully lift the product from the selected bin (not provided).
  3. Empty the bin and carefully remove paper on the bottom of the product.
  4. Reassemble the product following assembly steps 1 to 3.

9. Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING Risk of explosion! Do not spray or keep any aerosol products in or around the product.

9.1 Cleaning

9.1.1 Cleaning the sensor

  1. Unplug the product from the power supply.
  2. Using a Q-tip, gently wipe away dust and buildup from the sensor (Fig. 10).

9.2 Storage

Store the product in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.

2. Empty the selected bin and set the control slider (A) to REV to eject the paper.
3. Set the control slider (A) to OFF, use cotton swab or needle nosed pliers to take out the paper scraps through the feed slot (C), never through the blades. Do not use any cleaner or water (Fig. 10).
The product does not feed or shred credit card or small pieces of paper.The sensor is not activated.The sensor of the product is located near the center of the feed slot (C/D). Feed directly into the center area to activate the motor, especially for smaller pieces of paper or credit cards (Fig. 13). Take note and follow the guide icon on the panel for correct positioning.
