Let's Get Started

Follow these steps to set up your Nighthawk router using the Nighthawk app.

1. Step 1: Download the Nighthawk App

   On your mobile phone, scan the QR code to download the Nighthawk app and follow the setup instructions. If you have used the Nighthawk app before, go to the dashboard and tap the top left menu, then select "SET UP A NEW NIGHTHAWK SYSTEM."

2. Step 2: Check Your Network Security with NETGEAR Armor™

   NETGEAR Armor protects your family's WiFi with an automatic shield of security across all connected devices. Tap the "Security" tile in your Nighthawk app to explore your complimentary Armor trial and protection score.

3. Step 3: Do More with the App

   Explore the full capabilities of the Nighthawk app. You can run a speed test, pause the Internet, view connected devices, and much more.

Router Components:

• Power LED ?: Indicates the router's power status.
• Internet LED ?: Shows the status of the internet connection.
• LAN LED ?: Indicates the status of wired LAN connections.
• WiFi LED ?: Displays the status of the WiFi network.
• Sync LED/button ▶️: Used for syncing devices, potentially WPS.
• Reset button ↩️: Allows the router to be reset to factory default settings.
• Gigabit LAN ports: Multiple ports for connecting wired devices.
• 2.5G Internet port: Connects to your modem for internet access.
• Power connection: Port for the power adapter.

*Note: Power adapters may vary by region and might include plug adapters.

Need Help?

If you encounter installation issues, try the following troubleshooting steps:

• Turn off your modem and router, disconnect them, reboot your modem, reconnect your router to the modem, and then try installing with the Nighthawk app again.
• If the Nighthawk app installation fails, you can install the router using its web interface. Access the interface by visiting routerlogin.net.
