Transmitter Components
The transmitter controls the helicopter's flight. Key components include:
- Infrared Emitter
- Power Indicator
- Throttle Stick (for altitude control)
- Power Switch [power-switch]
- Charging Cord Port
- Band Selector (A, B, C)
- Left Turn/Right Turn Joystick
- Action Phrases Button
- Trim Knob (for adjusting spin)
Transmitter Battery Installation
The transmitter requires 6 AA batteries (not included). Follow these steps:
- Open the Battery Case on the transmitter.
- Insert 6 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the Battery Case.
Safe Battery Usage:
- Use only AA batteries.
- Do not mix different battery types.
- Do not mix older and newer batteries.
- Remove batteries when the helicopter is not in use.
- Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
- Use 6 x 1.5V AA batteries (Not Included).
Charging the Helicopter:
Always turn off the power when charging. Charging takes about 40-60 minutes. A green power indicator lights up while charging. The red power indicator lights up when charging is complete. The USB Charging Cable Light turns off while charging and lights up when the battery is charged. When the power indicator blinks, the helicopter is low on power and needs charging or battery replacement.
Flight Operation
To ensure a safe and stable flight, follow these instructions:
- Set the transmitter's Channel Switch to A, B, or C (avoiding frequencies used by other nearby RC devices). Turn the transmitter's ON/OFF Switch [power-switch] on.
- Switch the Helicopter ON. Wait for the gyro to calibrate before takeoff. Calibration may take longer on uneven surfaces.
- After the transmitter's red light flashes, hold the Throttle Stick in the lowest position, move it all the way up, then back down to calibrate. The red light should then stay solid.
NOTICE: If using multiple infrared RC products, start transmitters at least 9 feet apart.
Controlling the Flight:
- Hover Up and Down: Slowly push the left joystick up to ascend; slowly push it down to descend. [up-arrow] [down-arrow]
- Turn Left: Push the right joystick to the left. [left-arrow]
- Turn Right: Push the right joystick to the right. [right-arrow]
Adjusting the Trim
If the helicopter spins without pilot input, use the trim knob to correct it.
- If spinning left: Slowly turn the trim knob to the right until it stops spinning.
- If spinning right: Slowly turn the trim knob to the left until it stops spinning.
Flight Tips
- Gently push the Flight and Throttle Sticks on the transmitter.
- Beginner pilots should focus on mastering the Throttle Stick first, aiming for a consistent altitude of at least 3 feet.
- Once mastered, practice using the Flight Stick.
Flight Environment
- Always fly in a still indoor environment. Be aware of wind from air conditioners or heaters.
- Fly in an area at least 17 ft. x 10 ft. x 10 ft. (Length x Width x Height).
- Do not fly near fans, air conditioners, heaters, lamps, or other obstacles.
- Avoid direct sunlight, as it can disrupt the IR signal and cause erratic flight.
Lift Off Procedure
- Place the helicopter on a smooth surface.
- Slowly increase the throttle, focusing on the helicopter, not the transmitter.
- As the helicopter lifts off, slightly reduce the throttle.
- Gently increase throttle if the helicopter is falling.
- Gently reduce throttle if the helicopter ascends too high.
- To turn, gently move the Flight Stick.
- Ensure no obstacles are in the path when moving forward.
- Avoid excessive speed, which can lead to loss of control.
Important Flight Information & Warnings
- Read this manual before flying.
- This product is designed for indoor use only.
- Fly only in open areas, clear of obstacles.
- Keep the helicopter 3-6 feet away from people and animals.
