This guide will help you get started with your Altec Lansing IMW1020 HydraMicro Everythingproof™ Wireless Speaker.
A Closer Look
The Altec Lansing IMW1020 features a robust design for portable audio. Key components include the speaker grille, control buttons, and an LED indicator light.
LED Indicator Light
- Flashing Green: Indicates the speaker is in True Wireless Stereo (TWS) pairing mode.
- Solid Green: Indicates two speakers are successfully paired in TWS mode.
- Blue Flashing LED: Indicates the speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Solid Blue LED: Indicates the speaker is successfully paired via Bluetooth.
- Red Light: Indicates the speaker is currently charging.
- Light Off: Indicates charging is complete.
Speaker Controls
- Power Button:
- Press & Hold [2 sec]: Turn ON/OFF.
- Press: Answer/End Call.
- Press & Hold [5 sec]: Disconnect Bluetooth.
- Press & Hold [10 sec]: Reset all connections and power off. - Volume Up / Next Track:
- Press [+]: Increase volume.
- Press & Hold [+]: Skip to the next track. - Volume Down / Previous Track:
- Press [-]: Decrease volume.
- Press & Hold [-]: Go to the previous track. - Play/Pause/Answer Call:
- Press: Play or pause music.
- Press: Answer or end an incoming call. - Voice Assistant:
- Press x2: Activate Siri or Google Assistant. - Reject Incoming Call:
- Press & Hold [2 sec] on Power Button.
Charging
Charging Time
It takes approximately 3-4 hours to achieve a full charge.
- (Red) = Charging
- (Off) = Charging Complete
Bluetooth Pairing
Pairing Mode
To enter Bluetooth pairing mode, press and hold the Power Button for 1-2 seconds. The LED indicator will flash blue.
Paired
Once successfully paired with your device, the LED indicator will show a solid blue light.
True Wireless Pairing (TWS)
To Pair Two Speakers
- Turn on the first speaker and connect it with a Bluetooth-compatible device.
- Turn on the second speaker. Press and hold the Power Button [1-2 sec] on the second speaker. Its LED indicator will flash green.
- Press and hold the Power Button [1-2 sec] on the first speaker. The first speaker will then connect to the second speaker, allowing both to play in sync. The indicator LED on both speakers will illuminate solid green.
- To end TWS pairing, press and hold the Power Button on either speaker.
Answering Calls & Voice Assistant
Answering Calls
Press the Power Button to answer or end an incoming call.
Voice Assistant
Press the Power Button twice ([Press x2]) to activate your device's voice assistant (Siri or Google Assistant).
Disconnect Bluetooth
Press and hold the Power Button for five seconds. The speaker will emit a beep to confirm disconnection.
Reset All Connections
Press and hold the Power Button for ten seconds. The speaker will power off, resetting all previous connections.
