Hugolog HU01 Programming Instructions
Product Overview
This document provides programming instructions and operational guidance for the Hugolog HU01 smart lock.
Mode Descriptions
Manual Mode: In manual mode, the lock can only be locked by pressing any key for 2 seconds from the outside or by using the thumb turn from the inside. The auto re-lock function can be adjusted to manual mode.
Shutdown Time: The lock will shut down for a default of 3 minutes and will not allow operation after the wrong code entry limit (10 times) has been met. During shutdown, the light will flash when attempting to use the keypad.
Silent Mode: The beeper will not produce audible sounds.
Status Indicators: Located on the exterior assembly.
User PIN Code: The user PIN code operates the lock. A maximum of 20 user PIN codes can be stored.
Reset Button: After a reset operation, the lock will be restored to factory default settings, and all user credentials will be deleted. Refer to the reset guide for detailed steps.

Warnings
Failure to follow these instructions could result in damage to the product and void the factory warranty.
The accuracy of the door preparation is critical for the proper functioning and security of this product. Misalignment can cause performance degradation and lessen security.
Finish Care: This lockset is designed for high quality and performance. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning. Avoid lacquer thinner, caustic soaps, abrasive cleaners, or polishes, as they can damage the coating and cause tarnishing.
⚠️ CAUTION
❗ IMPORTANT: Do not install batteries until the lock is completely installed on the door.
- Master PIN Code (4~10 digit): The default master PIN code is "12345678". Please modify it after installation. If you forget your master PIN code, you can reset your lock to factory settings.
- User PIN Code (4~10 digit): User PIN codes can be set up via the master PIN code. Up to 20 user PIN codes can be stored.
- Both master and user PIN codes do not support the following number combinations:
- A. Forward number sequence (e.g., 123456789) ❌
- B. Backward number sequence (e.g., 987654321) ❌
- C. Repeated number sequence (e.g., 222222) ❌
- D. Sequences containing existing code patterns (e.g., if 5683 is a code, 56839 is not allowed) ❌
Lock Operation
The following operations can be performed by entering the master mode (** + Master PIN Code + #) and following the prompts.
Change Master PIN Code:
- Enter Master Mode (
** + Master PIN Code + #). - Wait for 2 ? lights + 2 ? beeps.
- Press
1. - Enter New Master PIN Code, followed by
#. - Enter the New Master PIN Code again, followed by
#. - Wait for 2 ? lights + 2 ? beeps (Success).
Add User PIN Code:
- Enter Master Mode (
** + Master PIN Code + #). - Wait for 2 ? lights + 2 ? beeps.
- Press
2. - Enter New User PIN Code, followed by
#. - Enter the New User PIN Code again, followed by
#. - Wait for 2 ? lights + 2 ? beeps (Success).
Delete User PIN Code:
- Enter Master Mode (

Enable/Disable Beeper:
- Enter Master Mode (
** + Master PIN Code + #). - Wait for 2 ? lights + 2 ? beeps.

Enable/Disable Auto Re-lock:

Notes
- Beeps sound only when the beeper is enabled.
- If the indicators show 3 red lights + 3 beeps, your setting failed. The system will exit master mode. Try entering master mode again if you wish to continue your processing.
How to Use
Unlock the Door
- From Outside: Enter Master/User PIN code followed by
#. - From Inside: Use the manual ↩️ thumb turn on the interior assembly.
Lock the Door
- From Outside:
- Auto Re-lock Mode: The bolt will extend automatically in 30 seconds after unlocking.
- Manual Mode: Press any key on the ⌨️ keypad for 2 seconds.
- From Inside:
- Auto Re-lock Mode: The device will be locked automatically.
- Manual Mode: The device can be locked by turning the ↩️ thumb turn on the interior assembly.
Unlock with Fake PIN Code
Users can prevent PIN code exposure from strangers by entering random digits before or after their actual PIN code. Example: [Random Digits] + User PIN + [Random Digits] + #.
Definitions
Master Mode: The master mode can be entered by inputting ** + Master PIN Code + # to program the lock.
Master PIN Code: The master PIN code is used for programming and feature settings.
Auto Re-lock: After successful PIN code entry and the unit unlocks, it will automatically re-lock after 30 seconds. This feature is disabled by default.
Reset to Factory Default Settings
Follow these steps to reset the lock to its factory default settings:
- Open the door and ensure the lock is in the "unlocked" status.
- Open the ? battery box and locate the ? reset button.
- Use a sharp object to press and hold the ? reset button.
- While holding the ? reset button, remove one ? battery from the ? battery box and then replace it.
- Continue holding the ? reset button for another 3 seconds until you hear a voice guide prompt.
Note: After a factory reset, ? Bluetooth network configuration must be restored to factory settings, and network configuration must be completed within 5 minutes of the factory reset.
