- Continuous Adult Supervision Required: Most serious playground injuries occur when children are unsupervised.
- Obstacle Free Safety Zone: Ensure a clear area around the play set. See dimensions on the cover.
- Maximum Vertical Fall Height: 110.32" (2.8 m).
- Capacity: Maximum 6 Users, Ages 3-10. Weight Limit: 110 lbs (50 kg) per child.
- Residential Home Use Only: Not intended for public areas.
- Protective Surfacing: Installation of shock-absorbing material under and around the play equipment is crucial to reduce the risk of head injuries from falls. Maintain appropriate depth as specified.
- Placement: Position the play set on level ground, at least 2m from any obstructions.
- Choking Hazard/Sharp Edges & Points: Adult assembly is required. Keep small parts away from children until assembly is complete.
- Strangulation Hazard: Ensure children do not use ropes, cords, or wear loose-fitting clothing, necklaces, or helmets while playing.
- Tip Over Hazard: Anchor the unit properly and ensure it is level before use.
Safe Play Instructions
- Observe capacity limitations.
- Dress children in well-fitting, closed-toe footwear.
- Teach children to sit properly in swings.
- Regularly check for and address any splintered, broken, or sharp wood or hardware.
- Ensure ropes and chains are securely fastened at both ends and cannot create entanglement hazards.
- On hot days, check surfaces for heat and cool if necessary.
- Orient slides to minimize sun exposure.
- Do not allow children to wear open-toe footwear, walk near moving equipment, twist chains, get off rides in motion, climb when wet, engage in rough play, or swing empty seats.
Maintenance Guidelines
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safety of your KidKraft Play System.
- Beginning of Play Season: Check hardware for rust and tighten; inspect for sharp edges; check shock-absorbing surfacing depth; inspect ground stakes and swing hangers; check swings, ropes, and rides for wear; inspect wood parts for deterioration and sand splinters. Apply water repellent/stain annually.
- Twice a Month (During Play Season): Inspect hardware for tightness and check for sharp edges.
- Once a Month (During Play Season): Check swing hangers for security and lubrication; check swings and rides for wear.
- End of Play Season: Check surfacing depth. Store swings indoors if temperatures drop below freezing.
About the Wood and Warranty
KidKraft uses premium playset lumber. Natural weathering (checking, warping, fading) may occur but does not affect the product's strength. Applying a water repellent or stain annually is recommended.
KidKraft Limited Warranty:
- Missing/Damaged Parts: Replaced within 90 days of purchase at no cost.
- Defects in Material/Workmanship: Covered for one (1) year from the purchase date.
- Wood Rot, Decay, Insect Damage: Covered for five (5) years from the purchase date.
This warranty applies to the original owner and requires regular maintenance. It does not cover cosmetic defects, vandalism, improper use, or modifications. The product is warranted for residential use only; public use voids the warranty.
Assembly Tools and Tips
- Tools Required: Tape Measure, Level, Square, Hammer, Drill, Rubber Mallet, various Screwdrivers and Sockets, Wrenches, Drill Bits, Hex Key, Step Ladder, Safety Glasses, Pencil.
- Part Identification: Refer to the part numbers and diagrams provided in the manual.
- Symbols: Pay attention to symbols used throughout the instructions for important assembly reminders.
- Hardware Assembly: Follow guidelines for pre-drilling pilot holes, using washers, and tightening bolts appropriately to avoid wood splitting or damage. Ensure assemblies are square before fully tightening.
