Quick Installation Guide
TP-Link Wireless USB Adapter
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and connecting your TP-Link Wireless USB Adapter.
1. Connect to a Computer
Option 1: Directly
For Mac OS X:
- Download the driver and utility from the product's Support page at www.tp-link.com.
- Unzip the downloaded folder and run the Install.pkg.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Option 2: Via the USB Extension Cable

Note: In Windows XP or Vista, a 'Found New Hardware Wizard' window may appear. Click 'Cancel' and proceed with the driver installation from the CD or downloaded files.
2. Install Driver
For Windows:
- Insert the CD and run the Autorun.exe. Alternatively, download the driver from the product's Support page at www.tp-link.com.
- Select your adapter and follow the instructions to complete the installation.
Note: If you encounter issues during driver installation, temporarily disable your antivirus software and firewall, then try again.
For Mac OS X:
- Download the driver and utility from the product's Support page at www.tp-link.com.
- Unzip the downloaded folder and run the Install.pkg.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
3. Join a Wireless Network
For Windows:
Option 1: Via Windows Wireless Utility
- Click the network icon (e.g., Wi-Fi symbol) on the taskbar.
- Select your Wi-Fi network, click 'Connect', and enter the password when prompted.

Option 2: Via WPS Tool
(Note: This option is only available if your adapter has a WPS button.)
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the adapter until the WPS Tool opens.

Option 2: Via Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
(Note: This option is only available if your adapter has a WPS button.)
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the adapter until the following window appears.

When the 'Success!' message appears, your computer is connected to Wi-Fi.
For Mac OS X:
Option 1: Via TP-Link Utility
- Click '(TP-Link Utility)' on the menu bar or select the 'Site Survey' tab from the utility's pop-up window.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.
