Care and Cleaning
Cleaning the Unit
Clean the air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking new. Unplug the unit before cleaning. Dust the cabinet and front with an oil-free cloth or wash with a cloth dampened in warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Never use harsh cleaners, wax, or polish. Wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around controls.
Cleaning the Filters
Clean the filters every week for efficient operation. This unit has two filters (A and B). Grasp the upper panel tab to remove filter A from behind the back panel grill. Remove filter B by loosening a screw. Take down the air inlet grille to access and remove the air filter. Wash filters with liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and shake off excess water. Ensure filters are completely dry before replacing, or vacuum them. Replace the filter after it is dry.
Diagram Description: Shows how to remove the air filters. One filter (A) is behind the back panel grill, and another (B) is removed by loosening a screw. The diagram also shows taking down the air inlet grille.
Winter Storage
If the air conditioner will not be used for an extended period:
- Drain the water collection tank completely. Leave the bottom drain cap and rubber plug off for an extended period to allow residual moisture to evaporate. Reinstall the plug and cap when dry.
- Remove and clean the filter, allow it to dry completely, then reinstall it.
- Remove batteries from the remote control.
- Store the air conditioner in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, extreme temperature, and excessive dust.
Before Using the Air Conditioner Again:
- Ensure the filter and drain cap are in place.
- Check the power cord for cracks or damage.
- Place new batteries in the remote control.
- Install the air conditioner as described in the Installation Instructions.

Drainage Instructions
Continuous Drainage
During Dry mode, a garden hose (sold separately) is needed to drain condensate. Unscrew the drain cap of the continuous drain outlet. Condensate may flow out if the unit is running in Cool or Auto mode. Prepare a drip tray when removing the garden hose. Ensure the drain hose height and section are not higher than the drain outlet for proper function. For optimal performance in Cool or Auto mode, it is recommended to disable continuous drainage by replacing the drain cap.
Diagram Description: Shows the continuous drain outlet with a drain cap. An illustration shows connecting a garden hose to the outlet and leading it to a drain. A checkmark and cross mark indicate proper and improper hose placement relative to the drain outlet.
Heat Pump Drainage (For heating & cooling models only)
During Heat mode, use a 1/4" drainage hose (included) to drain condensate. Unscrew the heat pump drain cap and rubber from the heat pump drain outlet. Insert the rubber head into the outlet and screw the sealing cap into the heat pump drain outlet. Lead the other end of the 1/4" drainage hose to a drain that is not more than 16ft (5m) higher than the heat pump drain outlet. There is a 1/4" hole on the window kit for leading the drainage hose outside during heating mode. Do not drain condensate outside when the outside temperature is below 32°F (0°C).
Diagram Description: Shows the heat pump drain outlet with a sealing cap and rubber head. Another diagram shows the window kit with a 1/4" hole for the drainage hose.
Emptying the Condensate Residue Inside the Unit During Winter Storage
Place a drip tray under the continuous drain outlet, unscrew the drain cap to allow condensate to flow into the tray. Replace the drain cap when no condensate flows out. Place a drip tray under the bottom drain outlet, remove the rubber stopper to allow condensate to flow into the tray. If the tray capacity is exceeded, multiple fills may be needed. Replace the drain cap when no condensate flows out. To ensure all residue is removed, tilt the unit slightly upwards from the front until no more condensate emerges from the drain outlet.
Diagram Description: Illustrates placing a drip tray under the continuous drain outlet and bottom drain outlet, and removing drain caps/stoppers.
