Functions

Suspension Fork

Ensure suspension forks are properly adjusted. The black knob is non-functional. Adjust the blue knob to increase stiffness (clockwise, "lock") or decrease stiffness (counterclockwise, "open"). Fully lock suspension by turning clockwise until it stops.

How To Use Pedal Assist

Pedal Assist (PAS) functions only when pedaling. The motor output depends on your pedaling and the PAS level. PAS automatically switches off at the maximum set speed (up to 28 mph) and reactivates when speed drops below the maximum. You can also use the eBike as a normal bicycle by setting PAS to 0 or turning off the display. PAS will not function if the battery is discharged. The display and PAS/throttle features turn off after 10 minutes of inactivity.

Walk Mode

Walk Mode assists when walking the bicycle. To activate, hold the MINUS button on the display control pad. The motor engages at a slow walking speed. To deactivate, pull either brake lever or press and hold the MINUS button. "Walking" will appear on the display.

Cruise Control

Cruise control maintains a set speed. To activate, hold the MINUS button while twisting the throttle. For low speeds, slightly twist the throttle and hold the MINUS button. "Cruise" will appear on the display. To deactivate, pull either brake lever.

Top Speed

The Aipas eBike ships with a maximum speed of 20 mph (Class 2). Some states may have different regulations. Ride within your limits and obey traffic laws. Higher speeds increase safety risks. Always wear a helmet.

Class Pedal Assist Speed Limit Throttle Speed Limit
1 20 mph Throttle not allowed
2 (Default) 20 mph 20 mph
3 28 mph 20 mph

Note: Class 2 performance requires the speed setting not to exceed 20 mph (32 km/h). For Class 3, the setting can be up to 28 mph.

Safety Tips

Thinks To Know Before The Ride

How To Start And End Your Ride

  1. Insert key and turn counterclockwise to ON position (parallel with frame).
  2. Hold down the button on the left handlebar until the display turns on.
  3. Select PAS level using PLUS/MINUS buttons (PAS 0 = no assist, PAS 1 = lowest, PAS 5 = highest).
  4. To turn display OFF, press and hold the button while the bicycle is stopped. This prevents the motor from activating.

Note: Exercise caution with the twist throttle when the bicycle is stopped and powered ON. Do not twist the throttle, or the bicycle could accelerate.

Do not engage in Walking Mode while riding or sitting on the eBike. Holding the MINUS button engages the motor for walking speed.

Battery Safety

Note: Battery pack refers to all original Aipas eBikes battery packs.

Lithium-ion batteries contain high energy. Follow guidelines to prevent fire or injury. Do not open the battery pack, even for repairs, as this increases the risk of fire. Use only original Aipas eBikes batteries. The battery is protected by Electronic Cell Protection (ECP).

To Prevent Serious Injury or Death:

Battery Safety

Charge Safety

To Charge:

  1. Plug the charger cable into the battery port.
  2. Plug the charger power cable into a wall socket.

Note: Charging is only possible within the battery's permitted temperature range. PAS is deactivated during charging.

After charging, disconnect the cable from the battery port and the power cord from the wall socket. If the battery was charged in the frame, carefully insert the plug after charging.

Storing The Battery

Note of storing

When the battery pack will not be used for weeks or months, remove it and store it at about 60% charge. Check the charge level every 2-3 months and recharge to 60% if necessary. Storing a discharged battery may damage it and reduce its capacity.

For optimum service life, charge the battery to 100% a few hours before riding. If the charge level drops significantly, replace the battery pack.

DO NOT charge the battery unattended or leave it connected to the charger overnight.

Storage Conditions

Store the battery pack in a dry, well-ventilated place, protected from moisture and water. Store in a location that:

For optimum service life, store between 50°F and 68°F. Avoid temperatures below 14°F or above 140°F. Do not leave the battery in a hot car.

Note: Leaving the battery installed on the bicycle for long-term storage is not recommended.
