Coil Nomenclature Breakdown
The following diagram illustrates the components of the Aspen Universal Coil serial number:
1. Series:
- C = C Series (Copper)
- D = D Series (Aluminum)
2. Configuration:
- A = Uncased up/down
- C = Cased up/down
- E = Cased multi-position VersaCoil
- M = Manufactured home coil
- H = Cased dedicated horizontal slab coil
- P = Cased dedicated horizontal with attached plenum
- X = Cased dedicated horizontal coil
3. Nominal Tonnage (MBTUH):
- 18 = 18,000
- 24 = 24,000
- 30 = 30,000
- 36 = 36,000
- 42 = 42,000
- 48 = 48,000
- 60 = 60,000
- etc.
4. Coil Descriptor Code:
- LETTER: Face area, FPI
- NUMBER OF ROWS: 2-4
5. Metering Devices:
- A2L (R32/R454B) Refrigerants:
- D = Non-Bleed A/C or H/P R32 TXV
- J = Non-Bleed A/C or H/P R454B TXV
- K = 20% Bleed A/C or H/P R454B TXV
- Z = R454B or R32 CONFIGURABLE (Shipped with Piston)
- M = R32 Piston
- N = R454B Piston
- A1 (R22/R410A) Refrigerants:
- 4 = Non-Bleed A/C or H/P R410 TXV
- X = Non-Bleed A/C or H/P R22 TXV
- B = 20% Bleed A/C or H/P R22 TXV
- 6 = 20% Bleed A/C or H/P R410 TXV
- F = R22 Piston
- G = R410A Piston
6. Width Code:
- EXAMPLE(S): 130 = 13", 145 = 14.5", 160 = 16", 195 = 19.5", 245 = 24.5", etc.
- DRAIN PAN: CA, DA, CM, & DM Series
- FURNACE: CC, CE, CP, CX, DC, DE, DP, & DX Series
7. Location of Refrigerant & Plumbing Connections:
- L = Left-hand
- R = Right-hand
- T = Refrigerant out the top, plumbing out opposite sides
8. Option Code: (Details for specific option codes are not provided in this document.)
