Scosche HDSWC1 Handlebar Control Interface for 1998-2013 Harley Davidson Motorcycles

The Scosche HDSWC1 interface allows for the replacement of your factory original Harley Davidson stereo while retaining handlebar-mounted controls, provided they are equipped. This interface is designed for easy plug-and-play connection, eliminating the need for cutting, splicing, or adding additional resistors. The included harness also provides +12V Constant power, +12V Switched power, and Front speaker connections.

Note: The RED Accessory output wire from the HDSWC1 interface is rated at 10A Max output for most Aftermarket headunits. Connecting additional +12V switched accessories to this output source is not recommended as it may cause damage to the HDSWC1 module itself. If 10A output is not sufficient, a relay is needed (relay not included).

Installation Notes

  1. Prepare the HDSWC1 steering wheel connector harness using the chart above.
  2. Connect the harness to the interface module.
  3. For Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Panasonic and Sony Car Stereos, connect the 3.5MM male steering plug into the Steering wheel input jack at the back of the Stereo.
  4. For Kenwood and newer JVC Stereos, connect the Blue wire from the Steering wheel harness to the "Remote in" wire at the back of the Stereo.

The wiring diagram illustrates the connections required to integrate the HDSWC1 interface with an aftermarket radio and a Harley Davidson motorcycle's wiring harness. The HDSWC1 module features both a 12-pin and a 14-pin plug for connectivity.

Connection to the aftermarket radio is made via either a 3.5mm steering wheel input jack, commonly used by brands like Alpine, Clarion, Panasonic, JVC, and Sony, or through a Blue/Yellow wire steering wheel output, typically for JVC and Kenwood units.

The configuration of the steering harness for various aftermarket stereos is detailed in the following table:
