Sokkia SHC6400: Turn off the Windows Keyboard
How to turn off the Windows system keyboard when using Topcon Field to display only the Topcon Keyboard & remove the double or duplicate keyboards.
Topcon Keyboard
This guide will explain how to enable the Topcon Keyboard and disable the Windows keyboard.
- Open Topcon Field.
- Tap ☰ to open the Topcon Menu options.
- Tap

Disable Windows Keyboard
When a text field is selected, both the Topcon and the Windows keyboards will be displayed.
To Disable the Windows keyboard:
- Tap the gear icon ⚙️ on the Windows Keyboard to open the keyboard settings menu.

The Time & Language typing menu is opened.
- Tap the Touch keyboard dropdown.
- Tap the 'Show the touch keyboard' dropdown, set to 'Never'.
- Tap the X to exit the menu and return to Topcon Field.
The Windows keyboard is now disabled.
Changing this setting will also require a change to the Windows settings to easily open the Windows keyboard in other applications or using a search engine such as Google.

Update Windows System Keyboard
- Exit Topcon Field.
- Tap and hold anywhere in the taskbar.
- The Personalization Taskbar menu is opened.

Show Touch Keyboard in Taskbar
Under System Tray icons:
- Tap the 'Touch Keyboard' Show touch keyboard icon dropdown.
- Set to 'Always'.
- Tap the keyboard icon ⌨️ in the Taskbar and confirm the keyboard opens.

Test it with Google
Open Google Chrome.
- Tap the keyboard icon ⌨️ in the Taskbar to open the Windows keyboard.
