Introduction
The ensure lock is a smart lock with a stylish touchscreen keypad for keyless entry that will upgrade your door. Since August has connected the lock, you may lock and unlock it, share access, and view visitors from anywhere using the August app. Your ensure lock will automatically unlock as you get close to the door and relock once the door is shut for maximum convenience. Additionally, you may use voice assistants like Siri, Google Assistant, or Amazon Alexa to lock, unlock, or check your current status.

Download the App
Yale Assure App
Once you have successfully installed your Assure Lock with Bluetooth, download the free Yale Assure app from the App Store or Google Play Store
Turn On Bluetooth
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone (this can be adjusted in your phone settings) and open the Yale Assure app. For the best experience, we recommend allowing the app to access your location and send you notifications.
Create Account
Create a new account, or sign into your existing account if this is not your first Assure Lock with Bluetooth. Once your account has been created, the app will take you through a quick tutorial.
Add Lock
Tap ‘Add Lock’ and follow the on-screen instructions. During this process, please do not walk away from your Assure Lock with Bluetooth or close your Yale Assure app.
Key Settings
Tap the key to adjust notifications, add/manage digital key users and customize your key settings. Tap ‘Manage Users’ to share a digital key with another Yale Assure app user.
Lock Settings
Tap the lock icon in the bottom left corner to customize the name of your lock, adjust lock settings (e.g. wrong code limits, one-touch locking, operating mode) and view access history.
Never worry again about lending keys or hiding a key under the welcome mat. Sharing digital keys with friends and family is easy using the Yale Assure app. Tap on the key that you’d like to grant access to and then tap ‘Manage Users.’
The app will populate your phone’s contacts. You can send a permanent key, or a scheduled key that’s only valid during set times. Tap on a user and select ‘Remove User’
Twist & Go
As an added level of security, the Yale Assure app features a unique unlocking mode called, Twist & Go. This mode will require you to rotate your smartphone 90° to the left and then 90° to the right before tapping the check mark on the keypad to unlock. This prevents unintended unlocking that can happen with other Bluetooth-enabled locks.
Don’t sacrifice security for convenience. With Yale, you can have both!
Frequently Asked Questions
With regard to “August.” Has anyone experienced problems with their home’s automatic unlocking when the Bluetooth unlock feature is enabled?
No. Once your phone’s GPS signals you’ve left the vicinity of your location, auto-unlocking only becomes available.
Does this particular model feature auto-locking?
Yes, auto-lock is supported by this model, and a timer can be set. An excellent function that works well!
Can many phones unlock doors simultaneously using proximity technology?
Yes. Definitely. You may decide which people and which phones can utilize the code function or the phone unlock feature.
Can you arrange when the lock should be unlocked using the lock? For instance, it should be unlocked from 9 to 5 if I wanted to use it on a retail storefront.
The ability to plan locked/unlocked time periods is not currently available.
If the power is turned on and off, will the lock automatically re-connect to the Wi-Fi?
Yes, there shouldn’t be any reprogramming required.
Does it have everything needed to utilize Wi-Fi? Or what else has to be bought?
It does include everything.
Is the Echo Dot compatible with this product?
Yes! But to allow connectivity with Echo Dot, you must have a Veraplus gateway and an Alexa skill loaded.
If you misplace your physical keys, can you change the lock?
Yes, a locksmith rekeyed ours so that it matched another lock we had.
How can I change codes while I’m away?
Through the Yale Access mobile app, you can remotely modify your access codes. You must connect the supplied Wi-Fi Connect Bridge to your smart lock in order to use the app remotely.
Is Home Assistant compatible with this?
With Google Home, yes, but I seldom ever use it. I only employ it on my phone.
