Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about the REACT-R Controller.
COMPATIBILITY

1. What devices is this controller compatible with?

  • Xbox consoles
  • Windows 10/11 PCs

2. Can I use this controller with a wireless headset?

  • Yes — with limited functionality. As a wireless headset would not physically plug into/connect to the controller’s headset jack, the volume controls and other audio features/controls will not be available. You will instead need to use the volume controls on the headset itself.

3. Do the audio features affect a wireless headset?

  • No. The audio features provided by the controller, like Superhuman Hearing and volume control/Game and Chat balance, are available only when a wired headset is physically plugged in to the controller’s headset jack. A wireless headset does not use that connection, and instead has its own independent connection to the console.

4. Do I need to select anything in the menus?

  • With a WIRELESS HEADSET: No. A wireless headset does not get assigned to the controller; as long as the headset is set as the default input and output device, you would not need to configure any additional settings.
  • With a WIRED HEADSET: Yes. You would need to follow the standard Xbox procedure for setting up a wired headset for the first time.

This process is as follows:

  1. Securely plug the headset in to the controller’s headset jack.
  2. Make sure the controller is assigned to the profile you are logged into/using.
  3. Configure the audio settings for both the console and the game in question to your preference.
CONTROLLER FEATURES

1. Is this a wireless controller? Can I use this controller when it is disconnected from its cable?

  • No. This is a wired controller that can be disconnected when needed. The controller must be securely plugged in via its cable in order to be used.

2. Which buttons on the controller can be mapped (or re-mapped)? How can I map/re-map a button, or delete a button mapping?

  • Any of the buttons on the controller can be mapped to one of the two Action buttons (located on the back of the controller itself). Only one button can be mapped to an Action button at a time.
  • Re-mapping a new button to a specific Action button will override any previous mappings that were made.
  • Full instructions for mapping/remapping or deleting a button mapping are available here.
