Ozeri PD4X3-3 Tri-Mode Activity Tracker Multi-Axis Detection
INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the 4x3sport Pedometer, by Ozeri. This pedometer is a great exercise tool that tracks the total number of steps you take while walking, running or stair climbing, as well as your exercise time, distance and calories burned. This pedometer(s motion sensor is optimized to detect steps while walking. The data is tracked daily and the daily memory is automatically reset at midnight. Even though daily memory is reset at midnight, this pedometer will still add each day’s data to the total memory, upto a total of 999,999 steps and the equivalent in distance, time spent exercising, calories burned, and body fat burned. In addition, this pedometer will retain the steps, distance, time spent exercising, calories burned, and body fat burned each day for the last 30 days. This pedometer uses a Lithium battery (CR2032 installed). It automatically powers off after 3 minutes of inactivity to preserve battery life. To change the battery please use the included mini-screwdriver. If you lose this screwdriver, any mini-screwdriver similar to the type used on eyeglasses will work Please remove the battery insulation tab before attempting to use the Pedometer for the first time. When setting up your pedometer for the first time, you will need to enter your stride [the distance between your steps]. To measure your stride, it is recommended that you calculate an average in the following way: Walk or run 10 steps notating your starting position and ending position. Measure the distance between your starting and ending position. Divide this total distance by 10 to get your average stride. For example, if the total distance you walked over 10 steps is 330 inches, your average stride would be 33 inches (or 2.75 feet). To set your step stride for stair climbing, measure the distance from one edge of a step to the next, and enter this number as the step stride. Calculating the average is not necessary as stair steps are typically the same length. Alternatively, if the tread and rise of the step is known, the distance from one edge to another can also be derived by taking the square root of the sum of the squares of the tread and rise. Note: if your pedometer has already been programmed with a walking step stride, simply reset the pedometer to enter programming mode and change the stride![]()
NOTE: To ensure accuracy, this pedometer will not begin counting steps until it detects motion resembling approximately 1 0 continuous steps. This pedometer may not accurately count steps in the following conditions:
- When the unit moves irregularly. This can occur when the pedometer is changing its orientation, such as when loose in a purse or bag, or if hanging from a belt.
- When walking at an inconsistent pace. This can occur when wearing shuffles or sandals, or when you are constantly stopping such as in a crowded place.
- During Up and Down movement. This can occur when exercising in ways other than walking, such as when jumping up and down.
- When adjacent to a cell phone for prolonged period of time.
Using Motionlock™ Mode
The pedometer is equipped with a new feature called MotionLockTM. In motion lock Mode, the pedometer’s motion sensor is deactivated so that no steps or exercise activity are mistakenly captured, such as when driving a vehicle. To activate, press and hold the RESET and MODE buttons simultaneously for 3s. The screen will turn o as shown below, and all buttons will be disabled. No activity will be recorded until MotionLock is deactivated. To cancel out of MotionLock, press and hold the RESET and MODE buttons simultaneously for 3s again.
NOTE:
To prevent the recording of any new exercise data but still have access to all other functions, including the ability to scroll through data in memory, first switch to Exercise Mode [WALK, RUN or CLIMB]. Then engage MotionLock by pressing and holding the SET button for 3 seconds. When MotionLock is engaged from Exercise Mode, the screen will not turn of. Instead, a Lock icon will appear on the top right corner of the screen![]()

FAQS
If you lost the manual, you should contact Ozeri to ask for a replacement. Otherwise, you need to press and hold the set button when the screen is on the step mode. This will take you to the pedometer’s setup mode.
Slide your finger from the cord towards the clip. Put your thumbnail under the part that contacts first. Push this part away and up. This will make the jaws open. Snap the same part down to close the clip. The first time you will feel quite a bit of resistance and think you are breaking it. So glad you asked the question – I thought I was the only one who couldn’t figure it out.
I just went to google and typed in instructions for Ozeri 4x sport and got a site that showed a print out of the instructions, I went to fixya.com the 4th or 5th listing

Press and hold down the “Mode” button about every 2 or 3 second it will allow you to switch between Walk, Run, and climb mode.
According to the box, it does measure distance for walking and running. But distance is not a feature I use.
To ensure accuracy, your pedometer will not begin counting steps until it detects motion resembling approximately 10 continuous isteps. So make sure you are in the mode you want(Step,Distance…) and after 10 steps take a look at your pedometer. It be registering your progress by then
To show the Climbed section, you will have to change the mode to Climb. Please press the MODE button until you see WALK on the bottom left. At this time press and hold the MODE button and it will change to RUN. Press and hold the MODE button again and it will change to CLIMB. This is allow you to use the different features. If you are in need of further assistance, please contact Support@Ozeri.com
You can select any target you want by letting it roll to your choice. Mine is set for 7,000. I originally set it for 8,000 but decided that the 7,000 was easier to surpass. Afterwards it just keeps counting.
It’s fairly easy, just follow the instructions on page 9 of the User Manual. You set up time, day, step etc in the setup mode. It stays until the battery runs out. The battery in mine is now over 3 months old!
No. Part of the process of programming the pedometer is to input your stride length. Then the pedometer registers the number of steps you take and calculates the distance.
It automatically reset at midnight, daily (be sure to have your clock right so it’s timed correctly).
Because people will pay it. Devices are identical except for color.
It does not have an aerobic setting. But it will track the number of steps you take and tell you the distance you travel, the calories you burn. It also has a “body fat burn” mode.
