1. Choose a suitable location: The Verifact D microphone should be installed in a single gang electrical box for flush or surface mounting on a wall or ceiling. Position it 3 to 6 ft. away from the area you want to monitor, avoiding ceiling heights exceeding 10 ft.
2. Make the microphone connection: The Verifact D microphone has a USB mini-B port located on the rear of the unit. Connect it to a compatible host device using a standard USB mini-B male cable on one end. The other end of the cable will depend on the type of device you are connecting to, usually a USB type A port.
3. Compatibility and driver installation: The Verifact D USB microphone is compatible with devices running Windows 7/8/10 and Linux operating systems. When the microphone is plugged into a compatible host device, the operating system will automatically install the necessary software drivers. The device will then appear as a USB audio device under the device list. Select the Verifact D USB microphone as the primary "Recording Device" for the system to enable its operation.
4. Sensitivity switch: The Verifact D microphone has a sensitivity switch located on the back side near the terminal block. It has two positions: N (normal sensitivity) and L (lower sensitivity). The microphone is shipped in the L position by default. If you require higher sensitivity, move the slide switch to the N position.
Please note that it is important to comply with the law and provide notice of audio monitoring on the premises when using this equipment as part of an audio monitoring system. A decal notice is included with each microphone shipped.
