Product Overview

The Vadsbox Stor is a Swedish-designed Casambi-compatible junction box featuring terminals for connecting 1-50 DALI or DALI-2 luminaires in broadcast mode (simultaneous control). It supports Tunable White (TW) and RGBW color control. The Vadsbox Stor can group DALI luminaires (up to 64) into 8 distinct groups using group profiles. It is ideal for larger areas requiring synchronized control of multiple luminaires, such as corridors, open spaces, gymnasiums, industrial halls, and car showrooms. Control can be managed via the Casambi app, scheduled timers, astronomic clocks, or by using the integrated push-button input for quick wireless on/off and dimming functions.

Installation and Placement

Warning: High voltage. Risk of electric shock. Installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure the power supply is switched off before connecting.

The Vadsbox is a junction box designed for mounting products like dimmers, control modules, or relays. It is IP20 rated and suitable for indoor use, either in suspended ceilings or for surface mounting. The unit features a 5-pole spring connector that can be removed if needed. The base plate includes brackets for universal product fitting and internal cable management, with strain relief.

Opening the Vadsbox: Use a screwdriver to press the locking clips on each long side, as shown in the diagram (referencing page 2). [?] The diagram shows a screwdriver pressing a clip on the side of the box.

Placement and Antenna Placement: To ensure optimal Bluetooth signal performance, avoid placing the product inside metal enclosures or near large metal structures, as metal can significantly block the radio signal. If the product is installed within a metal housing (e.g., a metal lamp), a cutout around the antenna may be necessary to allow the RF signal to escape the structure. The cutout area should be as large as possible. Position the unit as far as possible from any vertical structures. The CBU-DA-1P's antenna is located on the right side of the unit.

Range: The wireless range between two units outdoors, without obstructions, is up to 120 meters in balanced networks. Higher ranges may be achievable with long-range networks. Actual range is also dependent on the environment and obstacles like walls and building materials.

There are over 85 Casambi fixture profiles available for the CBU-DA-1P. The specific connection method for CBU-DA-1P depends on the fixture profile used. Wiring diagrams for each profile are detailed in this document.
