Indoor/Outdoor Access Point
Package Contents
- Quick Installation Guide (1x)
- Waterproof Kit (1x) - Includes O-Ring, Bracket, Spiral Cover, Seal
- Mounting Kit (1x) - Includes screws and anchors
Installation
Option 1: Pole Mounting
Mount the access point to a pole. This typically involves using the provided mounting bracket and securing it with two screws.
Option 2: Wall Mounting
Mount the access point to a wall. This involves attaching a mounting plate to the wall using appropriate screws and anchors (e.g., one 1x screw and two 2x screws), then attaching the EAP to the plate.
Antenna Installation
If applicable, install the antenna. Mount the antenna, ensuring it is oriented at approximately 45 degrees for optimal signal reception.
Connection
1. Waterproofing
To ensure a waterproof connection, assemble the O-Ring, Bracket, Spiral Cover, and Seal onto the Ethernet cable before connecting it to the EAP. Select the appropriate seal based on the Ethernet cable's type and diameter.
2. Grounding
For lightning and ESD protection, connect the EAP's grounding terminal to grounding facilities using a proper grounding wire that meets local installation requirements.
3. Power On
Option 1: Via Passive PoE Adapter
Connect the Ethernet cable from the EAP's PoE LAN port to the Passive PoE Adapter's LAN port. Connect the adapter to a power source. The Ethernet cable length can be up to 100 meters.
Option 2: Via PoE Switch
Connect the EAP directly to a PoE switch using an Ethernet cable.
Configuration
Option 1: Standalone Mode
Configure and manage each EAP individually on its standalone web interface. This setup involves connecting EAPs directly to a network switch.
Option 2: Controller Mode
Configure and manage EAPs and other Omada devices centrally using an Omada Controller, which can be cloud-based (Omada Central) or an on-premises controller. This setup connects EAPs to a switch managed by the controller.
Omada App
The TP-Link Omada app allows you to access and manage your Omada devices locally or remotely via your smartphone.
