KT-TF04 E-Bike Display User Manual

Dear customer, please read this manual before you use the KT-TF04 Display. This manual will guide you in using the instrument correctly to achieve a variety of vehicle control and vehicle status displays.

1. Functions and Display

The instrument adopts the structural form of integrated design of the main part of the instrument and the operation button.

Instrument Display Layout Description: The instrument display features a main screen area and several numbered buttons. Key elements shown include: 1. DOWN Button, 2. UP Button, 3. SW Button, 4. PAS (Pass level), 5. 6Km/H push power assist, 6. Throttle (Throttle display), 7. The brake display, 8. Headlights, 9. Battery capacity indicator, 10. VOL (Battery voltage), 11. AVS (Average speed), 12. MXS (MAX speed), 13. DST (Trip distance) / ODO (Total distance). The display also shows current speed (KM/H), time (TIM), and trip distance (DST).

2. Display Modes

2.1 Display 1

Hold the [SW Button] ⚙️ to start up and enter the display.

2.1.1 Turn on headlights

To turn on the vehicle lights, the controller must be equipped with a headlight drive output function.

2.2 Assist ratio gear (Assist) switch

Press the [UP Button] ⬆️ or [DOWN Button] ⬇️ to switch between 0-5 assist gears (N is gear 0). Gear 1 provides minimum power, and gear 5 provides the highest power. Each time the device is started, it will automatically restore the last gear used before shutdown (users can customize the default gear). Gear 0 has no booster function.

2.3 6Km/H assist boost function

Hold the [UP Button] ⬆️ and [DOWN Button] ⬇️ simultaneously. The vehicle will drive at a speed not more than 6Km/h and the display will flash. Release the [DOWN Button] ⬇️, and the function will be disabled.

2.4 Display and delete of single data

Within 5 seconds after power on, hold the [UP Button] ⬆️ and [DOWN Button] ⬇️ at the same time. The single trip riding time (TIM) and single trip distance (DST) will flash. Hold the [SW Button] ⚙️ briefly, and the content of both will be cleared. If you do not hold the button within 5 seconds, it will automatically return to the display interface, and the original content will be preserved.

2.5 Display 2

Press the [SW Button] ⚙️ in Display 1 to enter Display 2. In riding mode, after 3 seconds, Display 2 will automatically return to Display 1.

2.6 Display 3

Press the [SW Button] ⚙️ in Display 2 to enter Display 3. In riding mode, after 3 seconds, the maximum speed (MXS) display will automatically switch back to the real-time riding speed (Km/h).

In Display 3, hold the [SW Button] ⚙️ briefly, and the display will enter Display 1.

Hold the [SW Button] ⚙️ to turn off the display and the controller's power supply.

3. Operation

3.1 ON/OFF

Hold the [SW Button] ⚙️ for a long time to turn on the power. Press and hold it for a second time to turn off the power. When the motor stops driving or the e-bike is not used for 5 consecutive minutes, it will automatically shut down and turn off the motor power supply.

4. Settings

4.1 General Project Setting

4.1.1 Set Max speed

Within 5 seconds after power on, hold the [UP Button] ⬆️ and [DOWN Button] ⬇️ simultaneously to enter the General Setting interface. Move to the maximum speed setting (LIM). Press the [UP Button] ⬆️ or [DOWN Button] ⬇️, and LIM will flash. Press the [UP Button] ⬆️ or [DOWN Button] ⬇️ to set the maximum riding speed. Press the [SW Button] ⚙️ when the maximum riding speed stops flashing, then press the [SW Button] ⚙️ to save.

4.1.2 Wheel diameter setting

Move to DIM, press the [SW Button] ⚙️, and it will flash to enter the DIM setting. Press the [UP Button] ⬆️ and [DOWN Button] ⬇️ to set the wheel diameter. Options include 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 23, 24, 26, 27.5, 700C, 28, and 29 inches. Press the [SW Button] ⚙️ to stop flashing and save.

4.1.3 Set the metric units

Move to UNT, press the [SW Button] ⚙️ to enter the UNT setting. When it flashes, choose a field within 0, 1, 2, 3. Press the [SW Button] ⚙️ to save and press the [SW Button] ⚙️ to go to the next parameter settings.

4.1.4 Exit from routine project setting

After completing each of the three routine settings, you can exit the setting mode and return to the display interface by holding the [SW Button] ⚙️ long after each setting is completed. The setting values will be saved.

5. Error Code Display

The display will show error codes if a fault is detected:

  • Motor position sensor fault! ❗
  • Motor or controller short circuit fault! ❗
  • Throttle fault! ❗

Once the fault is removed, the system will automatically exit the fault code display interface.

6. Outline Drawings and Dimensions

6.1 Dimensions of main instrument body

The main instrument body is approximately 24 units wide and 61.5 units high. It features a display screen area and a control button area.

6.2 Wiring diagram

The wiring diagram illustrates the connections for the e-bike display. It specifies the following wires and their corresponding colors: 36V (Red), Control (Blue), GND (Black), Data1 (Green), Data2 (Yellow). These wires connect the display unit to the controller.
