DVDO-4KSGA-1
4K HDMI Signal Generator & Analyzer
User Manual - Version v1.0
Introduction
The DVDO-4KSGA-1 is a portable mini HDMI signal generator and display emulator (signal analyzer). Its dual functionality is integrated into a compact chassis, making it highly useful for AV installers and testers. When operating as a signal generator, it can produce four distinct signals with a maximum resolution of 4K@60Hz, 4:4:4, and analyze HDCP content using a 4-pin DIP switch for control. In its role as a display emulator, it can analyze HDCP content and signal status (5V, TMDS) from an HDMI source. The device's LEDs provide visual feedback on the signal or HDCP status.
Features
- Operates as both an HDMI signal generator and a display emulator (signal analyzer).
- Features a 4-pin DIP switch for configuring video resolution and HDCP content.
- Supports video signal output at 4K@60Hz 4:4:4, 4K@60Hz 4:2:0, 4K@30Hz 4:4:4, or 1080p@60Hz.
- Supports HDCP OFF, HDCP 1.4, or HDCP 2.2 output.
- Provides four different test patterns for HDCP version verification.
- LED indicators display signal and HDCP status.

Product Description
The front panel of the DVDO-4KSGA-1 features an HDMI OUT port (labeled 'SIGNAL GENERATOR') on the left and an HDMI IN port (labeled 'DISPLAY EMULATOR') on the right. Between these are two status LEDs: 'SIG' (Signal) and 'HDCP'. Below the HDMI IN port is a 4-pin DIP switch labeled 'ON DIP' with four switches numbered 1 through 4. The top of the device shows the 'POWER' port (Micro USB).
1. HDMI OUT
Connects to an HDMI display device. The DVDO-4KSGA-1 is used as an HDMI signal generator to output HDMI signals.
2. HDMI IN
Connects to an HDMI source device. The DVDO-4KSGA-1 is used as a display emulator to detect the HDCP content and signal status (5V, TMDS) of the HDMI source.
3. SIG LED
- When the DVDO-4KSGA-1 is used as an HDMI signal generator, the LED turns red when there is HDMI signal output.
- When the DVDO-4KSGA-1 is used as a display emulator, the LED turns green when only 5V signal is detected, or turns red when 5V and TMDS signals are detected simultaneously, or is off when no HDMI signal input.
4. HDCP LED
- When the DVDO-4KSGA-1 is used as an HDMI signal generator, the HDCP content can be selected by the 4-pin DIP switch. The LED turns green when HDCP 2.2 is selected, or red when HDCP 1.4 is selected, or off when no HDCP is selected.
- When the DVDO-4KSGA-1 is used as a display emulator, the LED turns green when the HDCP content of the HDMI source is HDCP 2.2, or red when it is HDCP 1.4, or off when no HDCP is present.
5. POWER
Micro USB port for power cord connection. The DVDO-4KSGA-1 must be powered on when used as a signal generator. When used as a display emulator, it can be powered by the HDMI source, making the power cord connection unnecessary. If the HDMI source lacks sufficient power, both the SIG LED and HDCP LED will blink.
6. DIP SWITCH
When the DVDO-4KSGA-1 is used as an HDMI signal generator, switches 1 & 2 are used for built-in EDID (video) selection, and switches 3 & 4 are used for HDCP content selection.
There are four switches (1-4). A switch represents "0" when in the lower position and "1" when in the upper position.
