INSPIRED COLLECTION USER MANUAL
REMOTE CONTROL SHADES
PLEASE KEEP THIS MANUAL AFTER YOUR SHADES ARE INSTALLED AND OPERATING CORRECTLY. IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION WHICH MAY BE USEFUL IF YOUR SHADES NEED TO BE RE-PROGRAMMED IN THE FUTURE.
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for your purchase of motorized shades. With careful use, your shades will give you many years of trouble-free operation. Please read the following instructions to familiarize yourself with the operation and maintenance of your shades.
CHARGING THE MOTOR BATTERY
The shade's battery is located inside the motor, encased in the shade tube. Ensure that the battery is fully charged before installing the shade.
To charge:
- Connect the charging cord (see Figure 1: A charging cord connects to the motor's charging port) to the motor's charging port (see Figure 2: The motor tube end displays the charging port and the setting button).
- Plug the other end of the power adaptor into an outlet.
- The motor is fully charged when the LED on the power adaptor changes from red to green.
A low battery will cause the motor to beep 10 times when any button on the remote is pressed.
PREPARING THE REMOTE CONTROL
Remove the back panel of the remote. Pull out the insulating paper tab that protects the battery during shipment and storage (see Figure 3: The remote's back panel removed, showing the CR2450 battery and insulation tab).
When a button is pressed on the remote, a blue LED indicator light will illuminate between the buttons.
REMOTE OPERATION
SINGLE-CHANNEL REMOTE
- Pressing the ⬆️ UP or ⬇️ DOWN button will move the shade to its factory-set upper or lower stop limit, respectively.
- Pressing the ⏹️ STOP button at any time during movement will halt the shade.
MULTI-CHANNEL REMOTE
Multi-channel remotes control multiple shades individually or as a group using one remote.
- The remote has 15 programmable channels.
- Shades or groups may be pre-programmed to specific channels.
- Channel 0 is the group channel, operating all shades simultaneously; it cannot be reprogrammed.
- Use the '<' or '>' buttons to select the desired channel. Then use the ⬆️ UP, ⬇️ DOWN, and ⏹️ STOP buttons to operate the shade(s) on that channel. (See Figure 4: A multi-channel remote with its LED screen, channel selection buttons ('<' and '>'), and operation buttons (UP, STOP, DOWN)).
SHADE MANAGEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
PAIRING SHADE TO THE REMOTE
For multi-channel remotes, select a channel first (do not select Channel 0).
- Press and hold the ⚙️ Setting Button (as shown in Figure 2: The motor tube end displays the charging port and the setting button) on the shade motor end until the shade performs a quick up-and-down movement (a "jog"); release the button and listen for a long beep sound.
- Quickly press the ⬆️ UP button; the shade will jog once and beep 3 times.
- Note: The ⬆️ UP button must be pressed within 20 seconds of the motor jog.
UN-PAIRING SHADE FROM THE REMOTE/CHANNEL
Follow the pairing steps, but press the ⬇️ DOWN button instead of ⬆️ UP.
REVERSING THE ROLL DIRECTION
If the shade direction is reversed, press and hold the ⚙️ Setting Button (as shown in Figure 2: The motor tube end displays the charging port and the setting button) on the shade motor end until the shade jogs 3 times.
REORGANIZING SHADES ON MULTI-CHANNEL REMOTE
Programming (stop limits) is saved in the shade motor, not the remote. Changes are made by re-pairing.
- Moving a shade from one channel to another: Un-pair from the current channel and pair to the new channel.
- Moving a group of shades from one channel to another: Contact Customer Service for assistance/instructions.
- Copying programming from one remote to another: Contact Customer Service for assistance/instructions.
MOVING A SHADE FROM ONE CHANNEL TO ANOTHER
The simplest method is to un-pair and re-pair the shade to the desired channel.
Example: To move left and right dining room shades from separate channels to the same channel:
- Select Channel 2 and un-pair the right shade.
- Select Channel 1 and pair the right shade to this channel.
- Now both the left and right dining room shades are on the same channel (channel 1) and will move together.
SETTING STOP LIMITS
SETTING MIDDLE STOP LIMIT
This feature allows setting a custom middle stop position. It is not pre-programmed at the factory.
To set or change the middle stop limit:
- Move the shade to the desired middle stop limit.
- Press and hold the ⏹️ STOP button for 5 seconds until the motor performs a quick up-and-down movement (a "jog") and beeps once.
- To verify, move the shade to another position. While stationary, press the ⏹️ STOP button; the shade should move to the set middle limit.
CHANGING UPPER AND LOWER STOP LIMITS
Shades are pre-programmed with factory stop limits, which can be adjusted after installation.
Note: In "program mode," the motor moves in small steps. Press and hold ⬆️ UP or ⬇️ DOWN to move the shade continuously.
To Change the Upper Stop Limit:
- Press ⬆️ UP to move the shade to the current pre-set upper stop limit.
- Press and hold the ⬆️ UP and ⏹️ STOP buttons together until the motor jogs once and beeps 2 times.
- Move the shade to the desired upper stop limit.
- Press and hold the ⬆️ UP and ⏹️ STOP buttons together until the motor jogs twice and beeps once.
To Change the Lower Stop Limit:
- Press ⬇️ DOWN to move the shade to the current pre-set lower stop limit.
- Press and hold the ⬇️ DOWN and ⏹️ STOP buttons together until the motor jogs once and beeps 2 times.
- Move the shade to the desired lower stop limit.
- Press and hold the ⬇️ DOWN and ⏹️ STOP buttons together until the motor jogs twice and beeps once.
RESETTING THE SHADE MOTOR
To remove all programmed stop limits and start over, follow these steps:
- Press and hold the ⚙️ Setting Button (as shown in Figure 2: The motor tube end displays the charging port and the setting button) on the shade motor end until the shade jogs 4 times and beeps 4 times. (Note: There is a longer pause between the 2nd and 3rd jogs). This erases all programming.
- Pair the shade to the motor (refer to pairing instructions).
- Set upper and lower limits following the instructions above.
- Optionally, set the middle stop limit.
CHANGING THE REMOTE BATTERY
If the blue LED indicator light between the remote buttons does not illuminate when pressing ⬆️ UP, ⬇️ DOWN, or ⏹️ STOP, the battery needs replacement.
A low battery can reduce the remote's operating distance (up to 100 feet) and may prevent shade operation even if the channel number is displayed.
The remote uses a CR2450 battery, available at most hardware or general stores.
