Electrical Equipment & Motor Systems

Motor Types:

  • RSIR: Resistant Start Induction Run
  • RSCR: Resistant Start Capacitor Run
  • CSIR: Capacitor Start Induction Run
  • CSR: Capacitor Start Run

Starting Devices:

  • LST (Low Starting Torque): Used with capillary tube control and pressure equalizing. PTC starting device requires 5 minutes cooling before each start.
  • HST (High Starting Torque): Consists of relay and starting capacitor, used for expansion valve control or capillary tube control without pressure equalizing.
  • ePTC (Electronically controlled PTC): Compressor restart possible after a few seconds, reduced operational wattage loss, PTC protection screen not needed.

Compressor Cooling:

  • S = Static cooling (normally sufficient)
  • O = Oil cooling
  • F1 = Fan cooling 1.5 m/s (compressor compartment temp. equal to ambient)
  • F2 = Fan cooling 3.0 m/s necessary

Wiring Diagram Description (Example for LST - RSCR):

The diagram shows connections for a motor protector, thermostat, run capacitor, starting capacitor, starting relay, and terminal board. Wires are color-coded: Yellow/Green for Earthing, Black for Start, Brown for Common, Blue or Grey for Run. Main winding and start winding are indicated.

Note on EN 60335-2-34: For K-Series (excluding HMK), protection screen 103N0476 must be applied to the PTC starting device.

Safety Information: Flammable Refrigerants

Warning: Natural refrigerants R600a (isobutane) and R290 (propane) are hydrocarbons and are flammable.

Usage Requirements: Only allowed for use in appliances that meet the requirements set out in the latest revision of EN/IEC 60335-2-34.

Precautions:

  • Do not use near an open fire.
  • Refrigeration systems must be opened with a tube cutter.
  • Service staff must be properly trained in handling flammable refrigerants, including tools, transportation, and relevant regulations/safety precautions.

Identification: Secop compressors using R600a and R290 are equipped with a yellow warning label.
