Important Notice

Congratulations on acquiring the result of a well-thought-out development process and careful manufacturing. Ecler Acoustics thanks you for your trust in choosing their LEA (Lightweight Ecological Absorbent) Acoustic Panels.

Attention

Introduction

Ecler LEA (Lightweight Ecological Absorbent) Acoustic Panels are manufactured from recycled PET material and offer excellent absorption in medium and high frequency ranges. Their acoustic properties significantly reduce reverberation time, thereby improving acoustic comfort in a room. LEA panels can be mounted on suspended ceilings or attached to walls using the provided hook-and-loop fastener strips. No tools are required for handling these acoustic panels, and they can be easily cleaned at any time.

The POINTS OF VIEW collection, designed in collaboration with renowned designer Luis Eslava, was specifically developed to create comfortable room acoustics, make spoken word more intelligible, reduce listener fatigue, and acoustically optimize spaces for music listening. The acoustic properties of these panels ensure high absorption of medium and high frequencies. They are also lightweight and quick to install, either by attaching them to walls or hanging them from the ceiling.

Installation

Important Note: LEA panels with dimensions 60x60x2cm and 120x60x2cm are intended for installation on suspended ceilings and walls. LEA panels with dimensions Ø100x4cm are to be mounted directly on the ceiling. The corresponding installation accessories are included. These installation instructions will help you achieve optimal results. For other installation methods not described here, please contact your supplier/dealer or fill out the contact form on the Ecler website under Support / Technical Advice.

5.1. 60x60x2 and 120x60x2 Panels (Wall and Suspended Ceiling Installation)

5.1.1. Suspended Ceiling Installation

  1. 1. Remove the old panels.

Diagram shows removal of existing ceiling tiles.
  2. 2. Place the acoustic panels so that their edges are not damaged by the suspended ceiling structure.

Diagram shows placing a new acoustic panel into a suspended ceiling grid, with arrows indicating careful placement to avoid edge damage.
  3. 3. Ensure the panels fit well into the suspended ceiling structure.

Diagram shows a correctly fitted acoustic panel within the suspended ceiling grid.

5.1.2. Wall Mounting - Single Panel

To facilitate panel mounting, it is recommended to check the dimensions before starting work.

  1. 1. Clean and dry the surface where you intend to mount the panels. Ensure the wall is completely free of dust and foreign objects.

  2. 2. Attach 2 of the supplied hook-and-loop fastener strips to the back of the panel. Place them as close to the edges as possible. The adhesive side (covered by protective film) should face outwards, and the hook side should be against the panel. To ensure secure adhesion of the strips to the panel, it is recommended to press them from the center towards the ends.

Diagrams show the back of a panel, placement of two hook-and-loop strips vertically near the edges, and pressing the strips from the center outwards.
  3. 3. Peel off the protective film, exposing the adhesive strips.

  4. 4. Carefully position the acoustic panel in the desired location.

  5. 5. Attach the panel by applying light pressure along the areas where the adhesive strips are located. Do not press too hard, as this could damage the panel.

Diagrams show positioning the panel and applying light pressure.

5.1.3. Wall Mounting - Arrangement of Multiple Panels

To facilitate panel mounting, it is recommended to check the dimensions before starting work.

  1. 1. Clean and dry the surface where you intend to mount the panels. Ensure the wall is completely free of dust and foreign objects.

  2. 2. Attach 2 of the supplied hook-and-loop fastener strips to the back of a panel, as close to the edges as possible.

  6. 6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for the next panel to be mounted next to the first one. Ensure there is no gap between the two panels.

Diagrams show two panels being aligned correctly with no gap, and incorrect alignment with a gap, indicated by checkmarks and crosses.
  7. 7. If the wall surface is not completely even or smooth, use the recycled wood strips to connect the panels. This will create a more robust and uniform arrangement. The strips can be inserted more easily between the panels if the corners are trimmed as shown.

Diagrams show trimming the corners of panels and inserting wooden strips between them.
  8. 8. Repeat steps 1 to 7 with all remaining panels until the arrangement is complete.

Diagrams show the progressive installation of multiple panels on a wall, forming a complete arrangement.

5.2. Ø100x4 Panels (Ceiling Mounting)

5.2.1. Ceiling Bracket Installation

5.2.1.1. Conventional Fixing

Diagram shows the components for conventional ceiling mounting: a round acoustic panel, a ceiling bracket, screws (x4), wires (x16), and safety clips (x4). The process involves attaching the bracket to the ceiling using screws and then preparing the panel for wire attachment.

Diagram shows the components and the initial step of attaching the bracket to a ceiling surface using screws.
5.2.1.1. Magnetic Fixing

Diagram shows the components and process for magnetic ceiling mounting. This involves attaching a plate to the bracket, then using a magnet to secure the bracket to a magnetic surface on the ceiling.

Diagram shows attaching a plate to the bracket, then using a magnet to attach the assembly to a ceiling beam.

5.2.2. Panel to Bracket Installation

Diagrams illustrate attaching the acoustic panel to the prepared ceiling bracket using wires and securing them with clips.

Diagrams show the round panel, the bracket with attachment points, threading wires through the panel and bracket, and securing them with clips.

5.2.3. Ceiling Mounting with METALDISK15 (Optional)

For installations where drilling the ceiling or magnetic fixing is not possible, the optional METALDISK15 accessory provides a magnetic surface for attaching the bracket.

  1. 1. Clean and dry the surface where the METALDISK15 will be attached. Ensure the ceiling is free of dust and foreign objects.

  2. 2. Attach the optional METALDISK15 accessory to the ceiling using adhesive or double-sided tape.

Image shows the round METALDISK15 accessory.
  3. 3. Follow the steps described in the section 'Magnetic Fixing' from here.
