Frymaster 3010: Quick Reference

Control Panel Overview

The Frymaster 3010 features a comprehensive control panel designed for efficient operation. Key elements include:

  • Left Side Product Buttons (1-5): Assignable to specific products for the left display.
  • Right Side Product Buttons (6-10): Assignable to specific products for the right display.
  • ON/OFF Buttons: Located on both the left and right sides to control power to respective sections.
  • Display Screens: Provide information on cooking status, programming, and system messages.
  • Function Buttons:
    • EXIT / SCAN: Used to exit menus, scan programmed items, or confirm selections.
    • COOL: Enters or exits Cool Mode.
    • FILTER: Accesses filter-related options.
    • LANGUAGE: Changes the display language if programmed for multiple languages.
    • POLISH: Launches a specific programming mode when pressed simultaneously with other buttons.
    • [thermometer] (1): Displays temperature, time, date, and system version information.
    • [checkmark] (v): Used for filter usage checks, product setup, recovery checks, and accessing Info Mode.
  • Product Button LED: Illuminates when a product is cooking or being held at temperature.

Basic Operations

ON/OFF Button

Pressing the ON/OFF button initiates a melt cycle, gradually heating the oil to full temperature and the setpoint. To exit the melt cycle, press the [exit] [cool mode] button or any programmed product button. The display will prompt "Exit Melt?" with options to select [yes] or [no].

Cooking Status Displays

  • COOL: Indicates the fryer is in cool mode. Pressing a product button or [exit] [cool mode] will heat the fryer to setpoint, displaying [ready].
  • [ready]: The fryer is at the correct temperature for cooking. Press a product button and drop product.
  • ----: The vat temperature is outside the [ready] zone.
  • [shake]: An audible alarm sounds, indicating it's time to shake the product in the basket.
  • [done]: The cook cycle is complete. Press a product button to cancel the alarm.

Product Buttons

Press a product button to start a cook cycle. Press it again at the end of the cycle to stop the alarm. Press and hold a product button to stop a cook cycle.

Controller Button Navigation

Navigate through menus and options using the following buttons:

  • Product Button: Press to start a cook cycle. Press at the end of a cook cycle to stop the alarm.
  • Exit/Scan: Press once to illuminate all programmed product buttons; "Select Product" is displayed. Press a product button to view its name. Press the [right arrow] to view parameters. Press Exit/Scan again to repeat. Press Exit/Scan twice to exit the current menu.
  • [left arrow] / [right arrow]: Navigate options in the left display. Press and hold both simultaneously to launch the Polish cycle.
  • [up arrow] / [down arrow]: Navigate options in the right display. Press and hold both simultaneously to change the language if programmed.
  • [exit] [cool mode]: Press to enter or exit Cool Mode.
  • [thermometer] (1):
    • Fryer OFF: Press and release to display temperature, time, date, system version, and 3010 version. Press and hold for ATO board versions.
    • Fryer ON: Press and release to check recovery. Press and hold for 4 seconds for Info Mode.
  • [checkmark] (v):
    • Fryer OFF: Press and hold for 3 seconds to scroll filter usage; press and hold for 10 seconds to access Main Menu - Product setup.
    • Fryer ON: Press and release to check recovery. Press and hold for 4 seconds for Info Mode.
  • [filter]:
    • Press and hold: Access filter options: FILTER, CLEAN AND FILTER, DISPOSE, and BOIL OUT (only with controller OFF).
    • Press and release: Displays COOKS REMAINING.

Programming and Setup

Common programming and navigation are shown below. The left and middle columns show computer displays; the right column details the necessary action. Exit from a programming step at any time by pressing the [scan] key until the display returns to its pre-programming status.

Programming For Single Setpoint Cooking*

* The 3010 also has a segmented cooking program, called Cooks Mode, used for bone-in chicken if desired and is set to OFF by default. See the manual for enabling and programming this feature.

** Filter prompts occur in the programming sequence if the Filter Mode is enabled. This feature, which can be turned off, is set to ON by default. See the manual for instructions on disabling this feature.

Filter Menu Navigation* (if Filters enabled)

The Filter feature can be turned off. When Filter is disabled, the [filter] button has no function. Pressing it with the fryer ON or OFF will have no effect. See page 1-2 of the manual for an explanation of enabling 3000 options.

Info Mode Navigation
