WARNING: Do not attempt to open the back cover or power adapter. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards, and will disable restricted servicing. There are no user-serviceable components inside.

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This digital apparatus does not exceed Class B limits for radio noise emissions from digital apparatus as set out in Industry Canada's Radio Interference Regulations. These limits provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.

Recommendations:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and the receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.

  17. The MAINS plug is used as the disconnect device and shall remain readily operable.

General Operations

Power Connection

Before using your Bluetooth wireless system, connect the Power Adaptor to an AC outlet.

  1. Firmly and securely insert the DC plug of the adaptor into the DC IN jack on the rear of the unit.
  2. Plug the adaptor's AC plugs into an AC outlet.
  3. Power on the unit by switching the POWER switch on the rear. The Pairing indicator will light RED to indicate standby mode.

When the unit is not operated by AC power or unused for long periods, remove the power adaptor from the wall outlet and unplug from the main unit.

Mic Connection

  1. Plug the microphone into the MIC1 or MIC2 jack on the rear side. The output is mixed with playback from BLUETOOTH, USB PLAYER, or AUX IN.
  2. Ensure the microphone's ON/OFF switch is set to ON during usage.
  3. Microphone volume is adjusted by the MIC VOLUME knob on the rear, along with the speaker volume. (No independent microphone volume control).
  4. You can now sing along with the music playback.

Guitar Connection

Plug a 6.3mm Guitar plug (or other Hi-Z instrument) into the GUITAR IN jack on the rear. The output is mixed with playback from BLUETOOTH, USB PLAYER, or AUX IN.

Audio Output Connection

To connect audio signal from the unit to your home audio system:

  1. Locate RCA cables (not included).
  2. Connect the audio cable's white and red plugs to the white and red AUDIO OUT jacks on the back panel of your unit.
  3. Connect the other ends of the audio cable's plugs to the external unit's audio input jacks.

Echo Control

Adjust the ECHO control to enhance the singer's voice for a concert hall effect.

Party Lighting

Press the PARTY LIGHT ACTIVATE button to switch the party light show on or off. To change the light show mode, press the PAIRING button.

Bluetooth Operations

Pairing a Bluetooth Device for the First Time

  1. Power on the unit using the STANDBY button. The LCD display will show "PAIRING", and the Pairing indicator will light BLUE and flash. Press and hold the PAIRING button for about 5 seconds. Remain within 3 feet of the unit during pairing.
  2. On your Bluetooth device, select "BC1" in your Bluetooth settings to pair. If prompted for a password, enter "0000". Refer to your device's manual for specific pairing instructions.
  3. Upon successful pairing, the unit will emit a "Connected" sound, the LCD will show "BT PLAYING", and the Pairing indicator will remain lit.

After initial pairing, the unit remains paired unless manually unpaired or reset. If the device becomes unpaired or fails to connect, repeat the above steps.

Playing Audio Wirelessly

  1. After pairing, use your connected Bluetooth device's controls to select a track.
  2. Play, pause, or skip tracks using your connected Bluetooth device's controls.
  3. Audio played through the Bluetooth device will be heard through the speakers.
  4. Adjust the VOLUME control for the desired volume level.
  5. Press STANDBY to turn off the unit.

AUX-in Operations

Play music from other sources (iPod, MP3 players, etc.) by connecting the AUX IN JACK to your external player's audio out or headphone jack.

  1. Plug one end of a 3.5mm audio input cable (not included) into the AUX IN input on the rear of the unit. Plug the other end into the audio output of your external music player or source. Ensure your external music player is turned ON.
  2. Press the STANDBY button to power on the unit. The Pairing indicator will light BLUE and flash.
  3. Start playing the device connected via AUX IN. The output is mixed with BLUETOOTH, USB PLAYER, or MIC IN playback.
  4. Slowly adjust both the unit's volume control and the external device's volume control to reach a comfortable listening level.
  5. Press STANDBY to turn off the unit. Remember to shut down the external player's power.

NOTE:

  • If connecting to a Line Out Jack, only the unit's volume control may be needed. If connecting to a Headphone Jack, you may need to adjust both the external device's volume and the BC10's volume.
  • If using AUX IN while Bluetooth audio is playing, the AUX IN audio will mix in when the cable is plugged. Unplugging the cable resumes Bluetooth audio. It is recommended to stop playback or disconnect the Bluetooth device when playing music via Line In mode.

Using Shoulder Strap

Use the SHOULDER STRAP (included) to connect to the right and left BELT CLIP on the top side of the unit for easy carrying.

Charging Your Portable Device

This unit features a USB "CHARGER" port for charging portable devices (iPod, iPhone, Android phone, etc.) using the USB charging cord that came with your device.

  1. Connect a power adaptor (see "Power connection") into the main unit. The USB "CHARGER" port's power cannot be controlled by the unit's main power switch.
  2. Plug one end of the USB cable (not included) into the USB "CHARGER" Port on the back of the unit. Plug the other end into the device you wish to charge.
  3. Observe your device's battery charge indicator; charging will start immediately.
  4. Unplug the cable when your device is charged.

CAUTION:

  • Before charging, consult your device's user manual to ensure the requested charging current does not exceed 1A (1000mA). Overloading the charge may occur.
  • The USB "CHARGER" port supplies a DC 5V output at 1000mA maximum current for charging portable device batteries; it does not support other voltage ranges.
  • Ensure your device's battery is rated for DC 5V only.
  • The USB "CHARGER" port is for charging only and does not support data transfer or computer connection.
  • Do not connect this unit's USB port to other external power charger USB ports, as this may damage both units and void the warranty.

NOTE:

  • Some smartphones and portable devices use proprietary USB connections and circuitry, and may not charge when plugged into this port. Refer to your device's user manual before attempting to charge.
  • It is normal for the unit to become warm while the USB port is in use for charging.
  • Do not charge your smartphone for over 12 hours continuously.

Energy Saving (APS: Auto Power Off System)

The unit will automatically switch to Standby mode after 15 minutes in the following situations:

  1. In Bluetooth mode: if there is no connection or Bluetooth device playback stops.
  2. In MIC 1, 2 input: if microphones are switched OFF.
  3. In AUX input: if external player playback stops.

Press STANDBY again to turn the unit on. The APS function is for energy saving.

Troubleshooting

Adjust Mic Level control to max, then re-adjust to a comfortable level.
Switch Mic to ON position.
