How to Synchronize Your TOTOLINK Router's System Time with Internet Time

This guide provides instructions for synchronizing the system time on compatible TOTOLINK routers with internet time servers.

Applicable Models

This guide is suitable for the following TOTOLINK router models: N100RE, N150RT, N200RE, N210RE, N300RT, N302R Plus, A3002RU.

Application Introduction

You can maintain the system time on your router by synchronizing it with a public Network Time Protocol (NTP) server over the Internet. This ensures accurate timekeeping for logs, scheduled tasks, and network operations.

Setup Steps

STEP-1: Log in to the TOTOLINK Router

Open a web browser and enter the router's IP address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) to access the TOTOLINK router's web interface. Log in with your administrator username and password.

Description of the router's web interface login/dashboard screen. It typically shows the TOTOLINK logo, model number (e.g., Model No. N200RE Firmware V3.4.0), and sections like 'Easy Setup', 'Connect Status' (showing DHCP Connected), 'Internet' settings (WAN Access Type, SSID, Password), and 'IPTV' settings. Navigation options like 'Gateway', 'Advanced Setup', and 'Auto' are also visible.

STEP-2: Configure Time Zone Settings

In the left-hand menu of the router's interface, navigate to System, then select Time Zone Setting. Follow the steps below:

  1. Time Set Type select: Choose how the time will be set.
  2. Time Zone select: Select your local time zone from the dropdown list.
  3. Enter NTP Server: Input the addresses of NTP servers.
  4. Click Apply: Save the current settings.
  5. Click Update now: Initiate the time synchronization.
Description of the 'Time Zone Setting' page. It displays the 'Current Time' (e.g., 16:33:55 02/18/2019 Monday). Under 'Time Set Type', there are two radio button options: 'Get time automatically from internet' (selected by default or recommended) and 'Manual Setting'. The 'Time Zone Select' dropdown shows an example like '(GMT+08:00) Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Urumqi'. Fields for 'NTP Server 1' (e.g., time.windows.com) and 'NTP Server 2' (e.g., time.nist.gov) are available, with an optional checkbox for 'Automatically synchronize NTP time'. Buttons for 'Update now' and 'Apply' are present.

[Note]: Before proceeding with Time Zone Setting, ensure that your TOTOLINK router is successfully connected to the internet.
