Gembird WNP-RP-002 WiFi-Repeater Installation Manual
Setup WiFi-Repeater in Repeater Mode
This manual describes the steps to set up your Gembird WNP-RP-002 WiFi-repeater.
There are two ways to connect the repeater to your home router:
- A: Via WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
- B: Manual Setup
A: Connecting the Repeater via WPS
This method uses the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) feature for quick connection.
- Press the WPS button on your router. (Most routers have this feature; consult your router's manual for details. A WPS indicator light will typically blink when WPS is activated.)
- Within one minute, press and hold the WPS button on your repeater for 5 seconds.
- Your repeater will now automatically connect to your router. During this process, the indicator lights on the repeater will blink frequently.
- When the setup is complete and your repeater is ready for use, it will broadcast a network with the same name (SSID) as your router, followed by
.Ext.. - The password for this extended wireless network will be identical to your router's password.
Visual Description: An illustration shows a home router with a hand pressing its WPS button, and a WiFi-repeater with a hand pressing its WPS button. Wireless signal waves emanate from both devices, indicating connection.

Visual Description: A Windows taskbar network icon (?) is shown, followed by a list of available wireless networks including 'WiFi-Repeater'. A 'Connect to a Network' dialog box appears, prompting for a 'Security key' with an input field for the password '12348765'. A web browser window displays the address bar with 'http://192.168.10.1/' entered.
A window will appear prompting for a login and password. The standard login is admin and the password is also admin by default.

The name (SSID) of your current network/router will now be visible in the "Network name" field. Below, you are asked to enter the password of your network. Note that this is case-sensitive!

After a factory reset, the repeater will broadcast its original network name, WNP-RP-002, and you can follow the installation procedure again.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. I plugged in the repeater and connected to its network, but Windows tells me the connection has limited access or no internet access.
Your repeater needs to be set up before first use. This allows the repeater to connect to your router. Internet access via the repeater is only possible after the initial setup. Please use this manual to set up your repeater.
2. Windows asks for a PIN code when I try to connect to the repeater network. Entering the password (12348765) is not working here.
Windows may sometimes ask for a PIN code. However, setting up this repeater using a PIN is not possible. Please click on the blue link "Connect to this network without setting it up" to enable normal password authentication. (The Windows message may differ in different Windows versions).
Visual Description: A Windows dialog box asks 'Do you want to set up your network?' with an option to 'Connect to the network without setting it up'. A red cross (❌) indicates not to click 'OK', but to click the blue link.
3. When I press "Site Survey", nothing happens, or the list of found networks is not complete or stays empty.
WiFi networks broadcast their name (beacon) every 100 milliseconds. It's possible your network was momentarily missed. In this case, it's usually sufficient to press the "Site Survey" button again, or to refresh the webpage (F5) and press the "Site Survey" button again.
4. This manual is made for Windows users; can I also install the repeater with my iPad?
