Sew Inspired Quilt Shop Announces Retirement and Closure
An announcement regarding the retirement of the owner and the upcoming closure of Sew Inspired Quilt Shop.
Dear Sew Inspired Community,
The announcement of my retirement may come as a complete surprise to many of you – especially those who recently celebrated our 20th anniversary with us. However, this decision was not made lightly but instead with much prayerful consideration and heartfelt gratitude for the 20 years of creating so many connections and a vibrant quilting community.
In 2005, I had a dream to leave the corporate life and open a small, independent quilt shop. I had partners and people who believed in me and came along for the adventure. It was a leap of faith made possible by an incredible support system and many hours of hard work – plus a commitment to building one of the finest quilt shops in New England. Which we did.
Over the past two decades, my team and I have met so many wonderful people. We've chatted, we've helped with projects, we've taught you and we've learned from you. We've shared stories about children and grandchildren and news of illnesses and recoveries. Many friendships have been created here and I hope they endure for years to come.
Thousands of quilts and as many stories later, I am excited to begin the next chapter of my life. I plan to focus on my hobbies; cooking, gardening, knitting – and yes, quilting. But mostly, I'm looking forward to being a full-time Grammy available for swimming lessons, sports, school events and however else I can be a part of these precious children's lives.
Shop Closure Details
Commensurate with the end of our lease on Dec 31, we will be closing the shop at the end of the year. Some of the details:

- Block-of-the-Months, including Flower Box friends monthly stitch-ins, will continue as planned. However, we will not be scheduling any new classes.
- All regular priced merchandise will now be discounted 20%. Further discounts in the future will be announced through our e-newsletter.
- Fixtures, displays and many quilt samples will be for sale beginning in October.
- Handi Quilter machine owners will be contacted individually during October regarding service and training going forward. Shop demo machines will be listed as “cash & carry” on the web site as of Sep 20.
Gratitude and Farewell
We appreciate your patience and support as we navigate this new course.
Lastly, so much gratitude. Thanks to my team of sales associates who have worked so diligently. I have been blessed with the relationships I have with each one of them. Thanks to my husband, who has been in step alongside me through the ups and downs as both a business partner and loving confidant. Thanks to my children who have all contributed to my success in many ways.
And thanks to you. For the memories I will cherish long after Sew Inspired is gone.
Warm Regards,
