User Manual
For BMW Linux screen
Thank you for choosing AUTOABC's BMW Multimedia Smart Touchscreen. For the best experience when using this product, please read this manual carefully before installation and use.
1. Product Introduction
This product is a smart screen specifically designed for older BMW cars, which can replace the OEM car screen and add functions such as CarPlay/Android auto/AirPlay/Autolink to the car, while also retaining OEM car features.
By using this product, upgrade your older BMW car to a more convenient modern car. You can use navigation, voice assistant, Calls, Bluetooth music, and more in CarPlay or Android Auto; You can also watch the online video on the Internet through AirPlay/Autolink when you stop for a drive rest, or use the mobile USB hard disk to enjoy the videos and pictures you downloaded.
Please note that for driving safety reasons, the product's system is based on Linux rather than Android. Due to the characteristic of the Android system that gradually becomes sluggish over time, AUTOABC gives up using the Android system and also sacrifices the ability to freely download Apps. What comes with it is a smoother user experience. Compared to Android systems, Linux systems are less likely to be hacked and reduce traffic accidents caused by distracted driving after downloading Apps, greatly improving driving safety.

If you do not have the relevant installation knowledge, please ask professionals for help. Or watch disassembly and assembly videos and consult AUTOABC if you encounter something you do not understand.
Basic cable connection
If your car is an NBT-System, do not disconnect this AUX audio cable.
- Connect the radio interface to the car radio.
- Connect the original vehicle power interface to the original vehicle power supply.
- Connect the USB power cord to the corresponding interface on the back of the monitor.
- For CIC/CCC systems, connect the car's AUX port to the power cord group using an AUX cable (not required for the NBT-System).
- Reserved port: No connection needed. During installation, it can be wrapped with adhesive tape.
Fiber optic cable connection
If your car has a fiber optic cable, you need to remove the cable and install it on the screen power connector provided.
(Note: If your car does not have fiber optic cables, you can ignore this installation step. If your car has fiber optic cables, please locate them and remove them.)
Please transfer the fiber optic cable (if your car has this cable) to the ISO plug of the product power cord.
Camera cable connection
If your car camera is original, you don't need to connect any cables. If your camera is retrofitted, connect the cables according to the instructions below.
- Rear camera: Connect "Back video in" and "CAM-PWR". (Note: "No need for connection" for some wires, can be wrapped with adhesive tape).
- Front camera/DVR: Connect "DVR-CVBS" and "CAM-PWR". (Currently supports RCA port DVR cable connection). (Note: "No need for connection" for some wires, can be wrapped with adhesive tape).
- 360 camera: At present, there is no extra video input port for the power cord. To install a 360 camera, you must prepare a decoder yourself for connection.
4. Basic Settings
After your car is installed, please complete the following basic settings before the first use, otherwise your car may not function properly.
1) Camera settings
You need to select your camera type in the Linux system settings of the product. The steps are as follows:
- Original camera: Settings > Car settings > Reverse settings > Camera type > Original camera
- Aftermarket camera: Settings > Car settings > Reverse settings > Camera type > Aftermarket camera
Activate the front camera: First put the car in reverse gear, then shift to driving gear. The screen will enter the "Reverse Settings" interface, where you can set the "Front View Time". Usually, the "Front View Time" should be set to "0–20" seconds. (Usually this setting is activated by default. If your car is not activated by default, please try to activate it yourself.)
2) Sound settings
This product has two sound modes:
- AUX: The product activates sound through AUX by default. If your car does not automatically activate AUX, please enable AUX in the original system multimedia of the car and select the corresponding AUX option in the product's Linux system. It is worth noting that a small number of car models do not have AUX function on the original vehicle. In this case, you need to find a car dealer to help you activate the AUX function, or use a BMW computer to activate it yourself.
- Bluetooth: If your car has Bluetooth audio function, you can also activate the sound through Bluetooth music. After enabling Bluetooth audio in the product's Linux system, connect the phone to OEM Bluetooth music to activate the sound. (Only valid in CarPlay/Android Auto).
3) Resolution settings
When you enter the OEM car interface, there may be screen distortion and misalignment of icons. This is because the resolution of the OEM car interface does not match the screen resolution. You need to set the resolution corresponding to the car radio in the Linux system settings of the product.
Setting path: Settings > Car Settings > Original car screen resolution.
5. CarPlay/Android Auto
Before using CarPlay/Android Auto, please ensure that your phone is disconnected from the original car's Bluetooth and keep both Bluetooth and WiFi turned on.
CarPlay
Open the Bluetooth panel of the device to view the Bluetooth name, then find and connect it on the phone. (If the device Bluetooth cannot be found, please ignore other redundant Bluetooth devices). After the iPhone is authorized and connected successfully, it will automatically enter the CarPlay.
Android Auto
Open the Bluetooth panel of the device to view the Bluetooth name, then find and connect it on the phone. (If the device Bluetooth cannot be found, please ignore other redundant Bluetooth devices). After the Android phone is authorized and connected successfully, it will automatically enter the Android Auto.
In addition to wireless connection, you can also use wired connection for CarPlay/Android Auto (using USB port 1).
6. AirPlay/Autolink/USB
AirPlay
When you want to use AirPlay, you need to find the smartphone settings in the settings and turn on the AirPlay feature option to activate AirPlay. After AirPlay is activated, the device's WiFi password will be displayed when entering the AirPlay interface. Use your phone to connect to the WiFi, and after the connection is complete, turn on the screen mirroring function on your iPhone to complete the screen mirroring.
Autolink
The initial operation is the same as AirPlay. You need to activate the Autolink function in the system first and then connect the device's WiFi in the Autolink app interface to complete the screen projection. (If your Android phone does not have Autolink, you need to scan the QR code to download Autolink before you can use the Android phone's screen projection).
USB
Insert your mobile USB hard drive into the USB port of the product, and you can watch the downloaded movies, photos or listen to your favorite music in the USB function.
