PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The COMET Uxxxx dataloggers are equipped with a two-part self-locking terminal block and are designed for measuring and recording physical and electrical quantities with an adjustable logging interval from 1 second to 24 hours. Measured values, or average and min/max values over a recording interval, are stored in internal non-volatile memory. Data logging can be cyclic (overwriting oldest data when full) or non-cyclic (stopping when full). The devices also evaluate alarm states, such as exceeding or falling below measured value limits, memory filling, or technical defects. Alarm signaling can be visual (display symbol or LED blink) or acoustic. Data recording can be continuous or triggered by alarms. The devices are powered by an internal replaceable lithium battery.
Device setting, recorded data downloading, and online monitoring are carried out using the COMET Vision software installed on a computer. The USB interface is used for computer communication. The website www.cometsystem.com provides access to the software.

INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
Mounting
Fasten the datalogger on the wall using two screws or insert it into the optional wall holder LP100. The device can also be operated as a portable unit, ensuring it is protected from falling and maintained in a proper working position.
Connect Input Cables
- Remove the terminal block from the device.
- Connect the wires (maximum wire cross-section 1.5 mm²) using the supplied SP013 tool or an appropriate screwdriver.
- The maximum cable length should not exceed 30 meters (recommended maximum cable length for Pt1000/0 probes is 15 meters).
- All current and binary inputs are not galvanically isolated from each other.
- Current inputs are passive; current loops cannot be powered by the datalogger.
- Re-insert the terminal block into the device.
- Locate the device and all cables as far as possible from potential interference sources.
Set-up the Device
Device setup is performed using a computer with Windows 7 or higher. Minimum hardware requirements are a 1.4 GHz processor and 1 GB of memory.
- Install the COMET Vision software from www.cometsystem.com.
- Connect the datalogger to the computer using a USB cable with a USB-C connector (maximum cable length 3 meters).
- If connected properly, the device's current status will be displayed in the Device Home panel.
- Click the "Configuration" button to download device settings and make changes.
- Save the new configuration to the device.
- Disconnect the device from the computer and close the USB connector with the protective cap.
Operating the Device from the Keypad
- Press and hold the lower key. After the menu items light up, release the key and briefly press the upper key.
- Use the upper key to scroll through menu items (e.g., device On/Off, deleting Min/Max values).
- Press the lower key to confirm (SET).
The devices do not require special maintenance. COMET SYSTEM recommends regular verification of measurement accuracy through calibration.
