Before You Begin
Remove your stock roof rack (if applicable). Loosen all stock rack bolts before fully removing any of them. This will prevent the capture plates from working loose inside of the roof.
Using Tnuts
To use T-nuts, insert them into the extrusion slots. Then, align your component (e.g., a fairing or bracket) with the T-nut and thread a bolt through the component and into the T-nut. The diagram shows a T-nut being inserted into a T-slot channel, with a bolt passing through a plate and into the T-nut.
? The T-nut should sit flush within the extrusion channel.
Pre-Assembly
Step 1: Fairing Attachment
Required Components: 6x 1/4"-20 x 1/2" Bolts, 6x 1/4" Flat Washers, 6x Tnuts.
Description: Drop 6 T-nuts into the slots on the cross member. Align these T-nuts with the holes in the fairing. Secure the fairing to the cross member using 6 bolts and 6 washers.
? The diagram shows two bolts and washers securing a fairing to a cross member using T-nuts.
Step 2: Bracket Attachment to Cross Members
Required Components: 12x 1/4"-20 x 5/8" Bolts, 12x 1/4" Flat Washers, 12x 1/4" Tnuts.
Description: Secure the top of the mounting brackets to the three main cross members using the specified bolts, washers, and T-nuts. Leave the hardware that attaches the mount to the crossbar loose. This will make it easier when centering the bars later.
? The diagram illustrates mounting brackets being attached to cross members with bolts, washers, and T-nuts.
Installation Steps
Step 01: Mounting Brackets to Vehicle Roof
Required Components: 10x M8 Bolts, 10x M8 Flat Washers.
Description: Install the three sets of mounting brackets. The middle brackets have a single hole. Align the rubber spacers with the factory holes in your vehicle's roof gutter. The thin side of the rubber spacer should be positioned towards the center of the vehicle. Position the mounting bracket over the rubber spacer and secure it with 10 bolts and 10 bonded washers passed through the bracket, rubber spacer, and into the holes in the roof.
? The bonded washers should compress and become flat, but not concave. Do not over tighten these mounts.
TORQUE SPEC: 22in-lb
? The diagram shows mounting brackets being secured to a vehicle roof using bolts, bonded washers, and rubber spacers.
Step 02: Centering Bars and Installing Side Plates
Required Components: 12x 1/4"-20 x 1" Bolts, 12x 1/4" Flat Washers.
Description: After the main support cross members have been secured to the vehicle, use a tape measure to center all of the bars on the vehicle. It is recommended to measure from the inside edge of the mount to the outside face of the crossbar. Once all bars are centered, install the side plates. Align the small slots in the rack side with the ends of the main support cross members. Secure using 12 bolts and 12 washers. Leave these bolts loose enough to move the side plates to the position that matches the curve of the vehicle. Once the rack is positioned correctly, tighten down all hardware for the rack sides, mounting hardware, and roof track bolts.
? The diagram shows cross members being attached to side plates with bolts and washers.
Step 03: Wind Fairing Installation
Required Components: 4x 1/4"-20 x 1" Bolts, 4x 1/4" Flat Washers.
Description: Position the wind fairing in line with the diagonal slot at the front of the rack. Align the bottom of the fairing with the tip of the roof rack and secure it using 4 bolts and 4 washers.
? The diagram illustrates the wind fairing being attached to the front of the roof rack.
Step 04: Securing Remaining Cross Members
Required Components: 24x 1/4"-20 x 1" Bolts, 24x 1/4" Flat Washers.
Description: Secure all of the remaining cross members to the rack system. Position them according to your load requirements. It is recommended that you keep your load as evenly distributed across your rack as possible.
? The diagram shows a completed roof rack structure with multiple cross members.
Note: The next two steps (Step 02 and Step 03) can be completed in any order.
