Dragon Inspire IHA-1

What comes with your purchase?

When ordering the IHA-1 from Moon-Audio, you have a variety of options to further customize your device, but the basics will be the same.

It comes with:

  • The Dragon Inspire IHA-1
  • 2 Driver Tubes
  • 1 Rectifier Tube
  • 1 Power Chord

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Lundahl Transformers: Cleans up input signal power and enables playback of higher impedance headphones.
  • 2 x 6SN7 New Old Stock Tubes (RCA): Different tubes for a different sound signature.
  • 5U4 New Old Stock Tube (RCA 5URGB): Different tube for a different sound signature.

Set-up

Assembly

  1. Unpack equipment on a clean, flat surface.
  2. Set the IHA-1 up on your surface.
  3. Remove the 2 Driver Tubes from their packaging.
  4. Insert each of these tubes, making sure to follow the key when plugging the tubes in.
  5. Unwrap and plug in the rectifier tube.
  6. Connect your DAC to the IHA-1.

Operation

  1. Plug in the Headphones/Amp/Active Speakers you plan to use.
  2. Select your output using the switch on the back:
    • Switch in the "up" position will output to the pre-amp RCA outputs for a separate amplifier or active speakers.
    • Switch in the "down" position will output to the headphone ports found on the front of the device.
  3. Plug in your power chord to the Dragon Inspire IHA-1.
  4. Flip the power switch to turn the device on.
  5. There will be a slight hum for the first 30 seconds. This is normal and will go away once the device is warmed up.
  6. Select your input via either Aux 1 or Aux 2.
  7. Slowly turn up the stepped volume knob and enjoy your music!

Safety Instructions

  1. Make sure when inserting and removing your headphones that the device is in "MUTE."
  2. Both headphone outputs have a latch that you need to press to remove your headphones so they won't get accidentally unplugged.
  3. When changing tubes, fuses, and cables, make sure the device is powered off for your safety!

Device Controls

The Front controls and ports are:

  • (1) Volume Knob
  • (2) Input Selector Switch (Aux 1/MUTE/Aux 2)
  • (3) 1/4" Headphone Port
  • (4) 4pin XLR Headphone Port
  • (5) Power Switch (ON/AC)
  • (6) Power indicator

Front Panel Description: The front panel features: (1) Volume Knob, (2) Input Selector Switch (Aux 1/MUTE/Aux 2), (3) 1/4" Headphone Port, (4) 4-pin XLR Headphone Port, (5) Power Switch (ON/AC), and (6) Power Indicator light. The text 'Inspire By Dennis Had' is also visible.

The back ports are:

  • (7) Power Port
  • (8) Fuse (unscrew to remove, screw to replace)
  • (9) Output switch (Low position = Headphone Output) (Up position = Pre-Amp Output)
  • (10) Pre-Amplified RCA Outputs L/R
  • (11) AUX 2 RCA Input (top port = left channel) (bottom port = right channel)
  • (12) AUX 1 RCA Input (top port = left channel) (bottom port = right channel)

Back Panel Description: The back panel features: (7) Power Port, (8) Fuse holder, (9) Output Switch (Low position = Headphone Output, Up position = Pre-Amp Output), (10) Pre-Amplified RCA Outputs (L/R), (11) AUX 2 RCA Input (top port = left channel, bottom port = right channel), and (12) AUX 1 RCA Input (top port = left channel, bottom port = right channel).
