Installation Steps
Step 1: Disconnect Light Engine
Disconnect the light engine from the driver by twisting the notch counterclockwise. (Refer to Figure 1, which shows the knob and notch for disconnection).
Step 2: Attach Safety Cable and Insert Luminaire
Screw the safety cable into the heatsink of the ModuLyte Luminaire. Bend the springs of the luminaire and insert it into the cylinder. (Refer to Figures 2 and 3). Ensure the flange touches the bottom mount ring.
Figure 2 illustrates attaching the safety cable to the heatsink. Figure 3 shows bending the springs and inserting the luminaire into the cylinder, highlighting the flange and bottom mount ring.
Step 3: Select CCT/Lumens and Prepare Driver
Select the desired CCT and Lumens output. (Refer to Figure 4, which shows the CCT/Lumen output selection on the driver). Take out the wires through the knockout. If no knockout has been removed, select the one that best suits your installation. Insert a flat screwdriver into the opening and move it up and down to remove the knockout. (Refer to Figure 5). Insert the driver into the driver bracket. For the 4-inch driver bracket, ensure the knockout face is facing up and the switch face is touching the mechanical stop. (Refer to Figure 6). For the 6-inch driver bracket, ensure the driver is held in place by the mechanical stop of the bracket. (Refer to Figure 7). Connect the driver to the luminaire by twisting the notch clockwise to secure. (Refer to Figure 1).
Note: Maximum lumen output is 3000L for better lifetime of the luminaire.
⚠️ WARNING – Use work gloves to protect hands from sharp metal of the bracket.
Step 4: Install Driver Bracket into Cylinder
Press the driver bracket and insert it into the cylinder on the opposite side of the luminaire.
- For the 4-inch cylinder: Press and hold the flanged edge on the driver bracket and insert it into the position indicated by the arrow label in the cylinder. (Refer to Figure 9). After inserting the driver bracket, twist clockwise until the fins lock into the stop point, and on the other side, lock the ribs. (Refer to Figure 8).
- For the 6-inch cylinder: Push the hooks of the driver as shown until parallel with the switch face of the driver. (Refer to Figure 11). Press and hold the flanged edge on the driver bracket and insert it into the four ribs notch, then let the four corners of the driver brackets secure on the inner wall of the cylinder.
Note: The 4-inch installation driver bracket is vertical (Figure 9), and the 6-inch is horizontal (Figure 10).
Make sure that the safety cable is kept out of the cylinder during the installation of the driver bracket.
Figure 8 compares the 6" cylinder (with fins and stop points) and the 4" cylinder (with ribs) for driver bracket installation. Figure 9 shows the vertical installation of the 4in driver bracket with an arrow label. Figure 10 shows the horizontal installation of the 6in driver bracket. Figure 11 illustrates pushing the hooks of the 6in driver bracket parallel to the switch face.
Surface Mount Installation
Step 1: Install J-Box
Install the J-Box flush with the ceiling. Choose the openings of the surface mount that best suit your installation to the J-Box and install it. (Refer to Figure 12).
Note: Refer to IS-CACK10XX for the J-Box installation.
Figure 12 depicts installing the surface mount plate to the J-Box, showing various openings.
Step 2: Connect Driver and Safety Cable
Connect the driver connections to the extensions, use wire nuts to connect them, and be sure to match the wire colors. Hook the safety cable into the surface mount plate. (Refer to Figure 13). Make the necessary electric connections. (Refer to Figure 24).
Note: While making the connections, the safety cable must be taut, and the wires of the connections should be loose.
Figure 13 shows aligning the cylinder tabs with the surface mount holes.
Step 3: Secure Cylinder to Surface Mount
Align the four tabs of the cylinder into the four side holes of the surface mount. Insert the cylinder into the surface mount and twist it counter-clockwise until it reaches the end and has passed the mechanical stop of the surface mount. (Refer to Figure 14).
Figure 14 illustrates inserting and twisting the cylinder into the surface mount until it locks past the mechanical stop. It shows tabs, side holes, and the mechanical stop.
Pendant Mount (Stem Pendant) Installation
Step 1: Install Pendant Mount
Install the pendant mount into the ceiling. (Refer to Figure 16).
Note: Refer to IS-CASK36 for more details.
Figure 16 illustrates installing the pendant mount into the ceiling.
Step 2: Attach Stem Pendant
Pass the stem pendant through the center hole of the pendant mount plate and screw the nut. (Refer to Figure 17).
Figure 17 shows passing the stem pendant through the pendant mount plate and screwing the nut.
Step 3: Connect Driver and Safety Cable
Connect the driver connections to the cable extensions, use wire nuts to connect them, and be sure to match the wire colors. Hook the safety cable into the pendant mount plate. (Refer to Figure 18). Make the necessary electric connections. (Refer to Figure 24).
Note: While making the connections, the safety cable must be taut, and the wires of the connections should be loose.
Figure 18 depicts hooking the safety cable into the pendant mount plate.
Step 4: Secure Cylinder to Pendant Mount Plate
Align the four holes of the cylinder with the four holes of the pendant mount plate, and screw until fixed. (Refer to Figure 19).
Figure 19 shows aligning the cylinder holes with the pendant mount plate holes for screwing.
Pendant Mount (Cable) Installation
