User's Manual and Terms of Warranty
Product Description
The Havaco ICM-EC duct fan is equipped with a high-efficiency electronically commutated (EC) motor with an integrated controller and thermal protection. It operates on a 230V~1, 50Hz power supply. The motors are designed for smooth speed regulation across the entire range while maintaining high efficiency. Speed regulation is achieved using an external 0-10V analog signal controller. The device has an IP44 protection rating.
Safety Warnings
- Installation must be performed by qualified personnel.
- Ensure the installation complies with all applicable mechanical and electrical norms in the country of installation.
- Upon startup, the apparatus must comply with the following directives: Low Voltage Directive 2014/35 EU and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30 EU.
- Ventilators are designed to move air according to the parameters specified on the nameplate.
- Do not use the device in environments with explosive or corrosive atmospheres.
- If the fan is used to extract air from a room with a boiler or other combustion apparatus, ensure adequate air intake for proper combustion. The exhaust outlet must not be connected to a duct used for smoke or fumes from any fuel-burning appliance.
- This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons unless adequately supervised to ensure safe operation. Ensure children do not play with the appliance.
- If an earth connection is required, verify it is correctly connected and that thermal and overload protection is properly connected and adjusted.
- If the fan is installed in a duct, the duct must be exclusively for the ventilation system.
Before Starting Up
- Ensure the apparatus is securely mounted and electrical connections are correctly made.
- Check for any loose materials or foreign objects that could be sucked into the fan. If installed in a duct, ensure the duct is clear.
- Verify that earth fittings are properly connected.
- Confirm that electrical safety devices are correctly connected, adjusted, and ready for use.
- Ensure wire and electrical connections are properly sealed and watertight.
When Starting Up
- Check that the propeller rotates in the correct direction.
- Ensure there are no abnormal vibrations.
- If any electrical safety device trips, disconnect the apparatus from the mains supply immediately. The entire installation should be carefully checked before attempting to restart the machine.
Installation Steps
- Unlock/unscrew the clips.
- Attach the base unit.
- Place the motor unit onto the base.
- Make the electrical connections.
- Connect the ducts.
Transportation
The packaging is designed for normal transport conditions. Keep the fan in its original packaging to prevent deformation or damage. Store the product in a dry place, protected from dust and dirt, until installation. Do not accept delivery if the packaging is damaged or shows signs of tampering. Avoid placing heavy objects on the packed product and prevent impacts or drops.
Wiring Diagram
The diagram shows the connections for the ICM-EC fan. Wires are color-coded: red (+10V), black (GND), yellow (FG), white (Tacho), yellow/green (PE - Protective Earth), brown (L - Mains Phase), and blue (N - Mains Neutral). The diagram also indicates the function of each connection, such as voltage output, control input, and mains supply.
Technical Drawing and Data

Cleaning and Maintenance
- Before any servicing, disconnect the unit from the mains supply, ensuring no one can reconnect it while you are working on it.
- Regularly inspect the unit. Perform maintenance based on operating conditions to prevent dirt or dust accumulation on the propeller, turbine, motor, or grids, which could cause malfunctions and shorten the unit's lifespan.
- Exercise caution during cleaning to avoid destabilizing the propeller or turbine.
- All maintenance and repair work must comply with current country safety regulations.
Warranty Terms
Ventia Sp. z o.o. provides a warranty for Havaco products for 24 months from the date of sale, and for spare parts for 12 months from the date of sale or repair service. The warranty covers manufacturing defects but excludes malfunctions caused by installation errors, improper use, or conditions for which the device is not designed. The client must inform subsequent users of the product about warranty terms and the procedure for reporting defects. Ventia Sp. z o.o. may require verification of defects by the end-user. In case of a confirmed defect, Ventia Sp. z o.o. will provide spare parts or repair within 14 business days in Poland. The client is responsible for installing spare parts and returning damaged components. Failure to return parts may result in a VAT invoice for them. Ventia Sp. z o.o. determines the repair method. The claimant must ensure safe access for service technicians. Extended repair times may occur if parts need to be imported. Repairs may be performed at Ventia Sp. z o.o.'s service department, with the client covering shipping costs. Installation must be performed by an authorized company according to the manual. The warranty is void if mandatory periodic technical inspections are not performed, if the warranty card is incomplete, if serial numbers are illegible, or if the device has been structurally altered. Unjustified warranty claims may incur costs for the claimant. Ventia Sp. z o.o. is not liable for operational damages or damages resulting from improper use or installation. The proof of purchase and a completed warranty card confirm the warranty. Warranty claims must be reported within 7 calendar days of discovering the defect via the service platform https://wsparcie.ventia.pl. Ventia Sp. z o.o. will respond within 14 business days. In case of unjustified service calls, the client will be charged for travel and labor. The warranty is granted only if the client has no outstanding payments to Ventia Sp. z o.o.
Conditions for Reporting a Malfunction
Malfunctions must be reported exclusively via the service platform: https://wsparcie.ventia.pl. For fans, controllers, and heaters, the report must include a photo of the electrical connection with a description, a photo of the installation space, and a photo of the fan impeller (recommended, optional for heaters and controllers). Failure to provide required photos may result in rejection of the warranty claim.
Fan Commissioning Protocol
This section provides a template for recording device details, installation information, electrical measurements, and performed operations during the fan's commissioning. It includes fields for Device Model, Serial Number, Purchase Invoice Number, Purchase Date, Installation Address, Installer, Electrical Measurements, Current Draw, Notes, and Electrical Protections Implemented. A table lists required operations such as mechanical installation, electrical connection, and commissioning/measurements, with spaces for date and signature/seal of the contractor.
Warranty Card
This section provides a template for recording warranty information, including Device Model, Serial Number, Purchase Invoice Number, Purchase Date, Installation Address, Installer, Malfunction details (Date, Applies to), and Service Performed (Date, Repairs/Notes).
