Setup and Placement
Proper placement of the outdoor sensor is crucial for accurate readings. Ensure the sensor is placed out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. For optimal wireless range, keep the display unit and sensor within 165 feet (50 meters) of each other and away from large metallic objects or thick walls.
The sensor requires 2 x AA batteries. Acu Rite recommends high-quality alkaline or lithium batteries for best performance, especially in low temperatures. Use lithium batteries for temperatures below -4°F / -20°C.
